All About You

Hello sweet friends....happy Saturday!  Back in July, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps released a stamp set celebrating YOU!  This set is soooo versatile it can be used alone or can be combined with almost any other stamp set to create a card for any occasion.  Today I'm sharing just two ways to use

Distress Oxide Inks were used with the Lots-a-Spots stamp set to create a background for the Butterfly Flourish.  A second panel was also made using the same Oxide Ink colors.  Black acrylic splatters were flicked onto both panels.  A decorative square die was used to cut vellum which was then cut diagonally for the corners.  The word "you" from All About You was white embossed, fussy cut, and popped onto the card front with foam tape.  The butterflies from the Butterfly Flourish were stamped again and fussy cut to add to the card.  The word "thank" from the All About You set was stamped and highlighted with a white paint pen.

Typewriter Text Background was stamped on one panel, Floral Pattern Background (currently out of stock) was inked with Oxide Inks and stamped on a second panel, and a Pretty Potted Flower was stamped and colored with Copics on a third.  The three panels were cut into three sections and stitched together to form the card front.  The sentiment from the All About You set was stamped and a Majestic Monarch added.  The top of the flower was stamped a second time, fussy cut, popped onto the card, and a sparkly gem added to the center.

These stamp sets are available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

THANK YOU for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Cathy

Love Is Like A Butterfly

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a Mixed Media card created with several Sweet ‘n Sassy clear stamp sets- Butterfly Flourish, Majestic Monarchs, Music to My Ears and Grunge Elements (all designed by Korin Sutherland).

I had fun designing this card and thought I would add a bit of Spring to this winter day!

The images on this card were heat embossed with black embossing powder onto white cardstock and I used water-based markers to watercolor the wash behind the SNSS Majestic Monarchs sentiment and SNSS Butterfly Flourish image as well as applying a wash onto the white background panel.

I added a bit of distressing with the SNSS Grunge Elements stamp set (hint- I cut a small section of the large splatter stamp for smaller splatters).

The yellow circle in the background was created from scrap designer paper by stamping the SNSS Music To My Ears background lightly with archival black ink and using a yellow ink to create a watercolor wash as well.

All were layered onto black cardstock and large circle and SNSS Butterfly Flourish panels were split to cover more of the card and allow you to see more of the images.

The large butterfly from SNSS Majestic Monarchs was heat embossed with black embossing powder on white cardstock and colored with markers using with a water brush to soften the ink.  I applied a clear shimmer pen to all of the butterfly wings to give them a bit of shimmer (hard to see in the photo).

Once everything was mounted I added a few rhinestones to finish off the card.

I hope I have inspired you today to create something fun this week!

Country Butterflies

Hi its Kari here :) I'm still excited from my 1st host experience that I'm feeling totally charged up for this one.

This card took me a couple of tries to get it where I wanted it so don't get frustrated if it takes you a few tries as well....or maybe ya'll have a better grip on your skills than I do. lol

Lets get started :)

With this card I used the Butterfly Flourish stamp set made by Sweet and Sassy Stamps which you can find at the Sweet n' Sassy Stamps Shop. This set is so beautiful...you need it in your collection.

I started by cutting white cardstock for the background which was made by sponging chocolate chip, close to cocoa, and creamy caramel inks and chalks on the paper. I used a sponge to dab some water on it to blend the colors. I was going for the suede look. It took about 5 minutes for the paper to completely dry before I used versa mark to stamp the first set of butterflies on the paper. After I stamped the image I applied clear embossing powder. I did the shadow effect by re-stamping the image and then applying white embossing powder. I used the quote made by Sweet and Sassy Stamps which you can also find at the Sweet n' Sassy Stamps Shop :))

I applied the shear ribbon with white embellishment piece.
The boarder is made with Martha Stewarts stitch punches. I used Soft suede card stock for the stitched piece and the card the base.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure you pick up these stamp sets when you stop by the Sweet n' Sassy stamp shop :)) Have a great day!

Butterfly Flourish

Hello to all!!! :)

My name is Kari and I will be your Sweet and Sassy Stamps designing host for this week :)
I am soooo excited being that this is my first exhibit here at SNSS.  I can't wait to share what I have created with you.

This week I have used the Butterfly Flourish stamp set by Sweet and Sassy Stamps-- which you too can use to create beautiful masterpieces :)

To make this card I first cut my paper to my desired size. Then I used the MISTI to stamp my butterfly image where I wanted it. With this card I used a blue spectrum ink pad along with the Tempting Turquois and Gable Green markers.  I then applied clear embossing powder for a nice finished look. I let the ink dry for about 3 minutes just to ensure it wouldn't smear when I put it in a dry embossing folder. I used a Mum flower folder by the Paper Studio and chalked the flowers lightly with Summer Sun, More Mustard and Rose Red.  I applied the Tempting Turquoise ribbon to the card.  I layered the base with white then Gable Green card stock.  Next I placed it on the white card stock base.  I stamped another set of butterflies which I cut out by hand to give the card some dimension.

Next I added some glitter to the butterflies just for good measure ;)  After the glitter was dry I applied the pearls to the body of the butterflies.  I used a Tim Holtz die cut for the "Thank You" sentiment which is also in the Butterfly Flourish stamp set by Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  I applied two larger pearls just to have some continuity across the card.

And there you have it... the finished product!!  All possible due to the wonderful stamp sets you can find at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps :))  I pray you all have a wonderful time making your creations with the awesome stamp sets SNSS offers you.  I know I am :)

Thanks for stopping by :) Have a blessed day!

Flutter By.....

{jane bosi}  Good Morning, Sweet Friends!  From the snowbanks of Wisconsin, I'm telling you, the butterflies will flutter by soon enough!

I truly cannot remember how long I've been a fan of Sweet N Sassy stamps, but I do know Butterfly Flourish is one of the first stamps I purchased all those years ago.  It continues to call to me with the beautiful flourish and three butterflies--an image that inspires hope and things to come!

I added the flourish to a water colored background.  After everything was dry, I also added some silver Wink of Stella to give it that soft shimmery look.  The butterflies were stamped and trimmed from a second piece of water color paper.  I used distress inks to color them, as well.  I don't typically use white as a card base, but thought I'd try something new......what new things are you up to?

Butterfly Flourish and More...

Hello,  Sweet 'N Sassy friends!  Angie here, hoping you have been enjoying our 8th birthday bash this month!  All month long we are revisiting some of our favorite sets and today's feature is Butterfly Flourish!

I have had a lot of fun designing with this gorgeous stamp set.  The flourishes  flow gracefully among the gorgeous butterflies and I absolutely love the sentiment style!

For my first card, I used a previously made background and simply stamped the flourish and sentiment. I added a piece of glitter paper and gems for a quick and pretty card!

For my next card, I once again used a previously made background and stamped the image. I stamped the image a second time on a separate piece of cardstock, colored the butterflies with Chameleon Pens, then fussy cut each butterfly and added them to the card!

In celebration of Sweet N Sassy's 8th birthday, we are doing a little "About Me" segment so here's a little bit about me!

We have lived in Georgia for 25 years and in January my husband and I will celebrate our 26th anniversary!  We have a busy year ahead as our oldest is a senior in High School and will be transitioning to college. Yikes!  How did that happen so quickly? Our daughter is a freshman in High School and I think she is looking forward to having some "only" child time at home next year!

I started stamping a little over four years ago when I decided to create "thank you" cards for my children's teachers.  One of their teachers told me about the Splitcoaststampers community and the rest, as they say, is history.   I made stamping friends on the forums and found tons of inspiration and discovered Sweet N Sassy Stamps during a release party held at Splitcoaststampers.   I fell in love with Sweet N Sassy Stamps beautiful designs and inspirational sentiments so much so that I can still remember going into great detail with my mom about the stamp set God's Purpose while talking on the phone with her one evening.

One of the happiest moments in my stamping journey came in November 2013 when Lydia, manager of Splitcoaststampers invited me to join the Dirty Dozen team.  My very first card as DD member featured Sweet N Sassy Stamps Mini Tags & Sentiments clear Stamp and Mini Tags Die Set and Cathy McCauley was the first person to comment on my card!

Sweet N Sassy Stamps has been part of my stamping almost from the very beginning so you can imagine my delight and awe when I was asked in December 2014 to be on the design team!

I am inspired by so many talented artists but Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, and Lydia Fiedler are among the top designers that I love to watch on youtube.  They create gorgeous cards and inspire me to try new techniques.

I have grown leaps and bounds as a stamper because right from the beginning I found an online stamping community where I made friends and had access to a huge amount of tutorials so my advice to new stampers is find a community, youtube channel and/or bloggers to follow and inspire you.  Practice, practice, practice your art and pay attention to what makes you happy while creating and keep DOING that!!!

I love working with Sweet N Sassy Stamps so it's super hard to choose a favorite but I can say that the Sweet N Sassy stamp set that I have used the most is Welcome Jesus.  I just love the expression of joy on the snowman's face!

You Inspire Me ~ Flourish

With a "flourish of creativity" I created this 8x8 layout of my parent's holding hands. The picture explains the title of my layout, my Parent's love and devotion for each other is truly inspiring and a blessing!

I embossed the butterfly flourish to frame my image using versamark and white embossing powder. Next I layered the designer paper onto the base and began "building" my layers that I prepared in advance. I embossed another cardstock using the same flourish and inked the edges with a coordinating ink and stamped the word You. Taking my black and white photo I "direct to papered" using Ranger's vintage photo distressed ink. Stamping directly on the photo with versamark, I carefully embossed the flourish again to match the design beneath it. I embellished it using our heart dies and seam binding ribbon that was heat set to give it a vintage look.

Thank you for joining me! I hope you will visit again and hop on over to SCS member forum and see what everyone has been creating!

Enjoy your Day!

Mary

Butterfly Flourish

Butterfly Flourish has to be my favorite set from this month's release. So I thought I'd share a few cards I have made with it so far.

The first one I decided to do some resist embossing with the image. Embossed the image in clear and then sponged on distress ink. Took the scripture from New Creature and masked it around the outer edge which is also sponged with distress ink. And finished off with a sentiment and twine.

For my second card, I did a little spotlighting. Stamped image in white on black and a white & black theme was born. It's a little hard to see but I stamped the flourish all around the black background in versamark.

Hope you are inspired to stamp today!

Inky hugs!
