Peppermint Cocoa

I shared another fun Inspiration Challenge over in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps member company forums on Splitcoaststampers last Tuesday.  Last week it was all about the hot cocoa theme and peppermint colors....mmmmmm!!
I couldn't resist coloring up this sweet Cocoa image (I used the one from the Cup of Cocoa clear stamp set, but this image is also available as an individual digi).  I added some great Halo Crystal glitter to the ends of the snowflakes on the cup (although it migrated everywhere!).
You should come play along with our fun challenge!  While we share a new one each Tuesday (you can see the current challenge here), there is no time limit to play along!  You could land a weekly "guest designer" spot just for playing along!  Also, did you know that December is Crazy for Cocoa month at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps?  The entire line of Cocoa Mouse clear stamps and digis are 10% off all month long - no coupon needed!  You can thank me later!

~ CooCoo for Cocoa ~

Hello, my Sweet N Sassy friends!

Today I'm going to share with you my current favorite technique to use on images.  I dubbed it "The Telescoping Image".

Here's what it looks like:

The technique is quite simple.   You will want to stamp and color your image twice.  Yes, I know this is a lot to ask ...LOL... but for those of us who love to color, it's just plain fun.

Next, you are going to cut the two images with nesting dies.   The better they fit (the dies), the more symmetrical your image will come out.  For this card I used three dies.   I first cut one image with the largest of the three and the smallest of the three.  In order to line them up nicely, place all three dies on your image and then remove the middle one and tack your dies down with a post it note so they do not move while you run them through your machine.  The accomplishes the bottom and the top layer of your telescope.  For the second image, I did the same process only removing the largest and smallest dies after they were fitted.  This leaves you with the middle layer when cut.  Each layer is then popped up on dimensionals.

I added stickles to the snowflakes on the cup and puff paint to the marshmallows.

Here are my details:

Papers: Bashful Blue, GP White, Crumb Cake
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Chocolate Chip, Copics, White gel pen
Accessories: 7/8" metallic ribbon, snowflake dots embossing folder, scalloped square nesties, dimensionals, stickles, puff paint, sticky tape, warm brown rhinestones
