Happy Place

Hello friends!  Here it is August already!  Where is the summer going?  Cathy here with two mixed media cards to share.  As you may have heard by now, the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store has relocated to Georgia, so this first card is in honor of SNSS's happy new home!

Different colors of Distress Oxide inks were watered down on a craft mat, picked up on the edge of an old credit card, and swiped onto Bristol card stock.  Acrylic paint was used to add black and white lines with the edge of a credit card and white splatters.  The Typewriter Text Background was inked up with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and lightly stamped randomly over the background.  The flowers from the Happy Place stamp set were embossed on another panel and watercolored using the same colors on the background.  The sentiment was white embossed on a black strip.

I just love daisies...they are such happy flowers, so I reached for another daisy from the Scribble Flowers stamp set for my second card.

The coordinating Scribble Flower Die (currently out of stock) was used to cut the daisy from mixed media paper.  The daisy was then stamped again on another panel through the opening and both flowers were colored with Copic Markers.  Distress Oxide inks were sponged around the opening and a sentiment from Happy Place was stamped.  Texture Paste was spread through a honeycomb stencil around the opening and the sentiment before popping up the second flower and those adorable bees.  A bow and some tiny bling were added to finish the card.

Just a reminder for those who have recently placed orders from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store, shipping will resume this Friday, August 4th, so be on the lookout for your happy mail!
Thank you for your patience while we moved!

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a happy day!

Hugs,
Cathy

You Are My Sunshine

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Fans!

I've got a super fun CAS card to share with
you today based on the sketch from
CAS(E) this sketch this week.

I choose the set Happy Places for my card
because it was one of my absolutely must have sets!
When my children were small I often sang the song
"You are my Sunshine" to them.  So this set
brings such precious memories to mind for me.
There are also several other options to end
the words "You are my" in the set which
means I will get plenty of use out of it!

You can find all the products I used on my card
up on my blog and the stamp set right below.

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Hugs,

Jenny

A Little Sunshine

Hello sweet friends!  Can you believe this weather?  One day it's beautiful, sunny, and 60 degrees, and the next it's rainy and dreary with temperatures plummeting to below zero with the wind chill. Well...yesterday was so dismal, I decided to create a little sunshine!

The background was made with a stencil and some modeling paste.  After the rays were dry, some Daffodil Delight ink was sponged on them.  The borders, from the newly released set Borders and Backgrounds, were white embossed on different colors of card stock and die cut with the Borders and Background Dies to make a rainbow.  Because I was trying to make a happy card, the flowers from the Happy Place stamp set were colored with Copic Markers in rainbow colors.  A Clear Wink of Stella marker was used to make the sun rays and the flowers really shimmer.

A sunny bow, a banner sentiment, and some rhinestone stickers were added to finish the card.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has been busy preparing for Heirloom's Allentown Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival this weekend, so if you are in the area, be sure to stop in and say hello!  We'd love to meet you!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit!  Be a blessing to someone today and add a little sunshine to their life!

My Sunshine

Good morning!

For my card today, I used a stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy called Happy Place  which I paper pieced for an appliqued look.  I thought it would really pop against the white textured background of the card.  Pearls added to the centers of the daisies along with the Peapod Twinery twine, double wrapped and tied were quick embellishments to add to my CAS card..  I also used just a touch of the twine to tie a knot in my button.  Love the pop of green against the white!

Have a great day and I hope you have some sunshine to brighten your day today!
