The LORD is my LIGHT

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a fairly quick floral card using Mini Flower Blocks 3, Shining Light and Typewriter Text Background from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

As I designed this card, I reflected on Psalm 27:1 and am so thankful that “The Lord is my LIGHT and my Salvation, whom shall I fear?”  It is such a comfort to know that I am a child of God and He will be with me always :-)

I heat embossed the rose image from Mini Flower Blocks 3 using black embossing powder and water-colored the image with markers before adding Clear Wink of Stella® over the petals.

Using a light pink ink, I stamped the Typewriter Text Background   onto a piece of yellow and light pink designer paper before stamping the sentiment from Shining Light with an archival black ink ( I love the subtle background that the Typewriter Text Background creates :-)).

I mounted the panels onto black cardstock, added pieces of a white paper doily to the corners of the yellow layer before mounting the panels to the white card base.

The finishing touches are a bit of gold cord before adding the rose image with dimensional foam :-)

I had a great time creating this quick card and I think that the verses in Shining Light are perfect for an encouragement card as well as Father's Day!

Add the Shining Light verses with the gorgeous floral images in Mini Flower Blocks 3 and not only are you able to create a multitude of cards but they are also fabulous for Creative Worship (Bible Art Journaling)!

Also, please don’t forget- we are offering free shipping on all Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps through June 12!  Now is the time to order and save :-)

I hope I have inspired you to break out your stamps and get “inky”- have a blessed week, sweet friends!

Finally, here is a card made with some of our favorite products currently available at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store:

An Anna Griffin Poppy Embossing Folder matches the wonderful Mini Flower Blocks 3 poppy image perfectly.  Colored with Copics, the poppies look fabulous against the clean white background.  Every flower garden needs a few fluttering butterflies…this Majestic Monarch was easily cut with the coordinating Monarch Die.  The sentiment from the Keep In Touch stamp set was stamped on just the edge of one of the Decorative Plaques Dies.  The design of this card was taken from the Splitcoaststampers Sketch for this week.

These Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps products were used to make this card:

That's a wrap for July…thanks so much for stopping by.  Blessings to you and have a wonderful first day of July!

Mini Flower Blocks Embossing Tutorial~

Good Morning Sweet'nSassy friends! It's tutorial Monday and Mary here to play with you all today! Let's get started! I am going to share with you my version of embossing on Kraft cardstock and colouring using copics. I was inspired by cards I pinned on Pinterest.
  1. Gather your materials: SNSS Mini Flower Blocks3, Kraft CS, Versamark stamp pad, white embossing powder, copics of choice, 0 blender

    2. Stamp your image using versamark or embossing pad, pour your white embossing powder (I used white fine detail)and heat it thoroughly with your heat tool.

3. Colour in your image using your copics of choice. Be careful to stay off the embossed portions, go lightly in application. Blend your colours as usual. Once you are finished, go over lightly with the 0 blender over the white portions. This will pull the colour off you may have applied to the embossed portions.
4. Finish your card as desired. For this card, I mounted the image on a white fishtail banner and stamped the sentiment directly beneath. I embellished with matching ribbon. I love the Be encouraged set for it's many inspirational sentiments and versatility.
Here is another sample using the same technique. This card is layered on a piece of embossed CS and embellished with white ribbon. I stamped the sentiment directly on the base.

Grab some of your favourite sets, your markers and try your hand on this fun technique. Don't forget to upload to your favourite social media or Splitcoaststampers to show us your creations. Have a great Day!
