The LORD is my LIGHT

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a fairly quick floral card using Mini Flower Blocks 3, Shining Light and Typewriter Text Background from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. 

As I designed this card, I reflected on Psalm 27:1 and am so thankful that “The Lord is my LIGHT and my Salvation, whom shall I fear?”  It is such a comfort to know that I am a child of God and He will be with me always :-)

I heat embossed the rose image from Mini Flower Blocks 3 using black embossing powder and water-colored the image with markers before adding Clear Wink of Stella® over the petals.

Using a light pink ink, I stamped the Typewriter Text Background   onto a piece of yellow and light pink designer paper before stamping the sentiment from Shining Light with an archival black ink ( I love the subtle background that the Typewriter Text Background creates :-)).

I mounted the panels onto black cardstock, added pieces of a white paper doily to the corners of the yellow layer before mounting the panels to the white card base. 

The finishing touches are a bit of gold cord before adding the rose image with dimensional foam :-)

I had a great time creating this quick card and I think that the verses in Shining Light are perfect for an encouragement card as well as Father's Day!  

Add the Shining Light verses with the gorgeous floral images in Mini Flower Blocks 3 and not only are you able to create a multitude of cards but they are also fabulous for Creative Worship (Bible Art Journaling)!

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a quick Father’s Day card created with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps- Tender Thoughts, Shining Light and the coordinating die set, Birch Forest Dies. I just love both of these stamp sets as well as the dies!

I know what you are thinking- why Father's Day when Mother's Day is this weekend?  Well, I am hoping that most of you have already created your Mother's Day cards and would now be looking to the next holiday to honor your Father or special Fathers in your lives :-) 

If so, the images and sentiments from theTenderThoughts Clear Stamp Set are not only great for Father's Day but are also perfect for so many other occasions- Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Praying for You, Christmas, and many more, plus the bonus of no fussy-cutting with the Birch Forest Dies (love saving time :-))!

To create this card: Ink the birch tree image from the Tender Thoughts Clear Stamp Set using a light gray ink, stamp onto white cardstock and die cut with the coordinating die from Birch Forest Dies.

Repeat the above steps with the deer image from the Tender Thoughts Clear Stamp Set using black ink.

Stamp the sentiment from the Shining Light Clear Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock (I created the banner with a punch).

Create a few more banners from patterned paper, layer onto the dry embossed background and add a black button for interest.

Happy Tuesday, Sweet Friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!  This stamp set, Shining Light, reminds me of  the song, Start A Fire by Unspoken.  The chorus tells us to let our light shine, for all to see.....GOOD advice!  It's such a popular set, it's hard to keep it in the store! 

One of the reasons I love this stamp set so much is the verses!  They are wonderful reminders of our ability to influence the world for good.

I started the lighthouse image by stamping and masking on white card stock.  After completely masking the stamped image, I applied a variety of distress inks.  I have a hard time with landscapes so, I'm still working on the whole setting sun shading, but I like it well enough.

I added a few textured die cuts and sequins to finish things off.

Good morning Sweet'nSassy friends! Mary here with another very simple card to share with you. This image and all the sentiments/scriptures are from the Shining Light set. It is very versatile for encouragement and masculine cards. How perfect for Father's Day cards as well.

The lighthouse is coloured using Copics and die cut with oval die and sponged in some colour to cover some of the white space. The papers are from a MME coordinated pack and the sentiment is stamped onto Kraft CS. I added some sequins for some embellishment.

Shine Your Light...

Kim's gorgeous card (from couple of days ago) inspired me to take my embossing powders out... plus heat embossing was the perfect technique to use on the type of card I set out to make.

I tend to use flowers and butterflies a lot so I am always in need of masculine cards. Today I decided to make one... and Shining Light clear stamp set had the perfect images just for that.

I stamped the lighthouse image on an old dictionary page (I made sure the word light was on the page I used) with VersaMark, and embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then I sponged some black ink inside of the lighthouse and the edges of the dictionary page.

Here are a number of ides that you could apply/use when making a masculine card:

-use text background

-distressing-I sponged and tore the edges

-stitching

-add buttons

-use some kind of string instead of ribbon-I used Black Baker's Twine

-dark colors

-heat embossing simple images

-add staples

I also picked a border punch that was not flowery, or cute by any means... to add some sparkles to my card, I used silver rhinestones. They are the perfect masculine embellishments, don't you think?

Hello my friends! Giovana here, sorry for posting a little bit late, my husband just came home and finally fixed my computer :)
Anyway, today I have a masculine card using Shining Light set.

This card is very simple, I embossed a piece of Cardstock and ink all edges. I tied on jute and made a knot. I stamped the image and colored it with Copic Markers. The Bible Verse was added with foam tape.

Happy Father's Day

Hello my friends! Giovana here with another project, this time showcasing Shining Light set. This set is perfect for Father's Day or any Masculine projects, in addition of the wonderful Bible verses.

For my card I used the Sketch from Sweet'n Sassy Sketch Blog :). I kept this card simple, I was tempted to add some gold rhinestones, but I decided that I like this look, more masculine :)

Directions:

• Make card base from Kraft Cardstock. A2 size (4.25" x 5.5")
• Cut a piece of Cardtsock and Patterned Paper, distressed all edges of PP. Mat it with CS and add stitches.
• Add Jute Ribbon .
• Stamp image on White CS in Tuxedo Black Ink. Color image with Copic Markers. Die-cut, emboss and stencil it with Rectangle Nestabilities. Add Jute twine on left corner. Adhere it to card with foam tape.
• Stamp sentiment on White CS in Tuxedo Black ink. Die-cut, emboss and stencil it with Label 8 Nestabilities. Adhere it to card.

Shining Light

Hi everyone! Taylor here, with a quick post on this glorious Thursday! I wanted to share a card I made using the new Shining Light set, paired with some gorgeous Webster's Pages patterned paper. I love that the paper already said "Count Your Blessings" - I thought that was just perfect for a thank you card!

I colored my image with Copics and sponged inside the frame of my Nestie before I removed the panel. I think the way the rocks spill out over to the very edge of the oval looks so cool (I'm easily thrilled, lol). I know this is a bit flowery, but I think the darker colors make it great for a masculine card, too.

Happy Fathers Day

Hello everyone! I'm honored to be Guest Designing for Sweet 'N Sassy this month! Today I'm sharing a card I made using this month's new release Shining Light. I used a center step card design. This card folds up to a perfect A2 size.



My image is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics. My clouds are colored with the Copic Air Brush system using a cloud template from Rosy's Road Show. The secret to ANY cloud template you choose to use is to move it often so the angles and lines of the clouds look different. I like to use the template for the fist layer of color, and then remove it and use other light colors in the clouds such as W01 or B0000 for a more realistic cloud with more depth.

Onto my tan base I layered K&Co Blue Awning designer paper, and then stamped two of the sentiments from this fabulous set directly on the dp. The image is cut out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, and matted with SB Lacey Ovals. I laced twine through the frame and tied on a ships wheel charm as my only embellishment.
