springtime blessings

Today is my last post here as guest designer and I made another card using the sparrows from this month's release.
I am really loving the yellow and gray combination lately and it goes so well with the birds and flowers!

I also have a clean and simple card using the Kindness stamp set and matching dies.

Thanks for letting me share my projects with you!

Springtime Sparrows

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a Spring card.
I wanted to make something that looked soft and delicate. I decided to do some water coloring.

SpringtimeSparrowsTatteredMist

I stamped the image (Springtime Sparrows clear stamp set) on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using White embossing powder. Then I colored the whole image with blue Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist (straight from the bottle with a paint brush). After that, I filled in the images with pink and green ink, and at the end, splattered some more blue ink on.

I kept the embellishing simple. I added some pearls and Baker's Twine.
I die-cut a bloom with the smallest die from Kindness Flowers Die set out of Vellum card stock and stamped the coordinating image on (Kindness clear stamp set) with VersaMark... then I heat embossed it.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS198. We are giving away a prize this week, so please stop by and play along with us!

Springtime Sparrows sweet peek

Hello! It's Monika here today, with a sweet peek card using Springtime Sparrows clear stamp set that will be released TOMORROW! Did you see Diane's beautiful calendar using the same set? Wonderful images with lots of possibilities!

The main image fits in a circle perfectly, so I decided to make a circle card, using Scallop Circle and Circle dies from Spellbinders.

SpringtimeSparrows

I didn't spend a lot of time on coloring, but I did some fussy cutting to give a 'special touch' to my card. The cut out blooms and sparrow were then adhered with sticky tape and I just curled the edges with my fingers. The greeting came from Long Stem Silhouettes clear stamp set.

I finished the inside of my card, by stamping the same image with the same color as the card stock so it's very subtle.

The decorative washi tape, pearls, and sequins were the perfect embellishments. I really didn't need much because the main image is pretty enough and I wanted that to be the focal point.

sparrows mini calendar

Hello everyone!  I am so thrilled to be able to share my projects with you.  My name is Diane Zechman and it was such an honor and sweet surprise when Janette asked me to Guest Design for February!  I hope you like what I've created.  :)
Today, for my first post, I have something other than a card.  I've made a mini magnetic calendar to give you a sneak peek of the new Springtime Sparrows set being released this Friday.  I thought the verse would be great for a "daily reminder" hanging on the refrigerator.

Scraps of patterned paper were glued to a 4" square chipboard coaster.  The beautiful sparrows image was stamped directly onto the patterned paper and the branches were colored with Copics.  The birds and flowers were stamped again onto white cardstock...then colored, cut out, and attached over the original image.  A few flowers were popped up with dimensionals.

I'm looking forward to sharing more projects with you.  Have a great Tuesday!
