Merry Christmas

So, this year for my Christmas card creating I have been a little stuck on the color green. It's no surprise that I'm using green again to create this fun card featuring the new Stamp of the Month Geometric Background. It's free with a $60 order, just make sure to add it to your cart.

I stamped the background with white pigment ink on white cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. I inked up the embossed piece with bundled sage distress oxide ink, wiped off the excess from the embossed parts and heat set once more to make it shiny again. I die cut the panel and spritzed it with a sparkle shimmer craft spray. I added a border of dark green cardstock and attached to a white card base. 

Next, I stamped the apron from Sweet Treats on pattern paper and the towel portion on white cardstock and fussy cut them out. Then, I die cut the apron from white and glued all the pieces to form the apron. I stamped the ornament from Warm Winter Friends on white, colored with glitter gel pens and hand trimmed out. The sentiment is from the same set. 

I assembled the card as seen adding some white gems and popping the sentiment and ornament up with foam tape.

Wood Scraps to Treasure!

 Hi Friends! Happy Friday!!

I have been having a great time stretching my stamps and have loved the fun wood block decor I have created this summer. My first batch were made for my sister's birthday (for her tiered tray) and I had the hardest time giving them over (haha). Sooo what's a girl to do but make herself some (and get a tray to go with them - sigh.) Today I have lot of samples to show you!

My first projects used a wonky piece of scrap wood, a wood slice, and a "stem"/stick from my yard to create pumpkin with a little sign using Fall Breeze. Then I grabbed a scrap of 2x4 for a block using Autumn Gnomes with I modpodged onto the block and and a sentiment from Rhubarb's Harvest (stamped with Stazon)

• Then I painted up some beads and strung them to create a garland. Then cut up a 1x3 to create a stack of books. I painted them colors to coordinate with my garland and using Bitty Minnie Alpha I labeled my books with Thankful, Grateful, and Blessed - this set is PERFECT for this project! With some scrap 2x2's I added another little pumpkin and an apple. This all filled the top tier of my tray and it all is made by me - it makes me smile every time I see it!

• Finally, I decided top make a fun little recipe card and holder with the Sweet Treats set. This isn't for my tray but it was the last of my cut wood blocks (but I will be making more haha!) I colored the image with Copics and fussy cut it. I modpodged it onto the block (painted with chalk paint) then screwed a little clip to the top. I stamped the sentiment with Stazon and that is all there was to this little project.

These are all super fun and very easy! I hope you are inspired to try something similar - If you don't have the blocks, you can sometimes get them from Home Depot from the scrap pile - where there is a will there is a way right :)

Hello Sweet Friends! Sheri here with a mini slimline card featuring the NEW Sweet Treats stamp set from the August 2021 Release.

Have you tried the latest fad and created a fun Mini Slimline card yet? They are super easy to create. I love the 6" x 3 1/2" size. So you just need to start with a piece of card stock cut to 7" x 6", and score at 3 1/2" on the 7" side.

For my sample today I stamped a bunch of the images with alcohol friendly ink and used copic markers to color. I used the coordinating dies but you can also fussy cut them out.  I then cut a few layers and created a fun little scene. I added a sentiment and sprinkled on a few clay red hearts for embellishment.

 

Card Measurements:

Mini Slimline Card Base: 6" x 3 1/2" (6" x 7", scored at 3 1/2" on the 6" side)

Red Scallop Layer: 5 5/8" x 3 1/8"

Sea Glass Mat: 5 1/8" x 2 5/8"

sweet treats

 Good morning! Today I am sharing two projects using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Sweet Treats Stamp & Die Bundle (also available separately). The dies weren't available when I made these cards so I fussy cut my samples. I am anxious to get the dies! First I made a birthday card and decorated the cake with one of the small images. I stamped the cake a second time onto a post-it note and cut out the center to create a mask.

My second project is a 6x6 recipe card. I started making the recipe cards in 2006...15 years ago! They are a great way to share recipes with friends (in a swap) and hand them down to our daughters. I paper pieced the apron from the background paper.

I am smitten with the new Sweet Treats set! I am having a blast paper piecing the apron and playing with all the accessories! For today's project, I decided to make a Memorydex card also know as a Rolodex card. It was fun to create in a different way!

 

I started by finding my pattern paper and chose three coordinating patterns from my Ninth Street paper pack (The Paper Studio). I stamped the apron, oven mitts and bowl onto white cardstock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I stamped the apron and oven mitts onto the pattern paper making sure to stamp the towel portion of the apron a second time on a different pattern. I fussy cut all the pieces and assembled my apron and oven mitts.

I colored the bowl with a variety of watercolor brush pens and set aside to dry. I die cut my memorydex card(Heidi Swapp die) from Kraft cardstock. I added the first layer to the base with antique linen distress ink and the Delightfully Delicate stencil. Then, I distressed the edges with vintage photo distress ink and added little hints of blue with oceanside ink using a small stamp from Going Postal. 

I stamped the sentiment from Made New in ocenside ink and masked off one of the sentiments from Sweet Treats and stamped the bottom half with black. I assembled the card as seen, popping the oven mitts and bowl up with foam tape and adding a little bit of washi tape.
