let's purrrrty

Good morning and...Happy New Year!

Today I am sharing a card using the LOL Cats stamp set and the Number Dies.  Of course, the numbers need to be shiny for a brand new year...so I pulled out a pack of foiled papers to die cut them with.

I also gave kitty a sparkly hat and horn with some Stickles.

From all of us on the Sweet 'n Sassy team, have a happy, safe, and very blessed 2017!

Thanks for popping in and… happy stamping!
Diane

New Stamps for May!

Good morning, Sweet 'n Sassy friends!

It's been a while since I have posted here. I'm sure you are surprised to see me. ;) I am always around, just working behind the scenes while the Creative Team shares their amazing projects with you. Well, today, I actually have something to share, too....and not just the new stamps, either....I stamped, too! :D

First up is this gorgeous new set illustrated by Krista Hamrick. There are so many wonderful possibilities for using this set in your card making and Bible journaling!  The best part---this is just the 1st of many sets in this series of Jesus themed stamps by Krista!

I love the layout of the images in this set. Because they were created to fit in the margins of your Bible, they also work very nicely for bookmarks so I created this bookmark/tag with a large manilla tag. I stamped the Good Shepherd image first and then created a mask so I could stamp the scene behind him. I colored the whole thing in with my Copic markers (haven't used those in a while!!). I wanted to add some wording, too, so I used the fish tale banner from our Banner Dies and popped the words up with foam tape.

Next is this wonderful script alpha. It was designed so you can stamp each letter to connect to the next to form complete script words! It is FABULOUS!  It even comes with numbers and extra doodles and icons all for only $15.95! Wow! A great find for card makers, scrapbookers and Bible journalers alike!

This set by Rebecca Rios is SO FUN!  The "awesome" mix of lettering styles is very popular right now and no wonder! It's a fun way to get your thoughts across and this set will certainly help you do just that whether you are stamping a card for a friend, scrapbooking pics of your kiddos or journaling in God's Word.

I decided to create a clean and simple card with this set to show you that it's not just for Bible journaling. I stamped the words and images from Awesome Thoughts with my Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink pad. The thought bubble was cut out (with scissors) and both pieces were popped up with foam tape. I stamped the little circles directly onto the kraft card base and then colored them in with my white Sharpie paint pen. Easy peasy!

Finally we have a really amazing alpha illustrated also by Rebecca Rios that will coordinate nicely with her other stamps AND many of the stamps you already own. The letters are large so they will stand out in a crowd ;) and you'll enjoy coloring them in to add even more pop to your projects!  Did you see the amazing page Cathy made with this and some other new sets?  She shared it on the Creative Worship Blog this week. If not, you can check it out HERE. It is gorgeous!!

Now this is a work in progress....I debated sharing it with you since I haven't added any color yet, but I thought, why not...it's fun to see the process of a project as it comes together.  This is sort of a silly page, but it fits my personality pretty well. I love cats and I love this verse in Philippians (my fave book of the Bible, in fact) so I decided to use my LOL Cats stamp set to illustrate the various needs I have that God supplies. I will be sure to share the finished page once the color is added. :D

In addition to Rebecca's Outline Alpha, this page also uses our new Classy Script Alpha and our Camden Market Alpha.

I hope you enjoyed today's little parade of stamps and samples. Watch for more samples from the Creative Teams throughout the coming weeks! We have lots of great stuff in the works to share with you!

Be Encouraged

Hello sweet friends!  What a fun week we had celebrating Korin's Birthday.  We hope you enjoyed the special birthday discounts and entering the contest for the free giveaway!  Because of the overwhelming response, it may take a little while to compile the list for the random selection, but be sure to stay tuned…we will be announcing the winner of that fabulous gift bundle soon!

I do have two cards to share with you today!

The background was made by covering an acrylic block with Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral, and Candied Apple distress inks and spritzing them with water before pressing them onto a piece of Bristol Board card stock.  The Long Stem Silhouettes image was stamped on the background after it dried.  A sentiment from the Be Encouraged 2 stamp set was white embossed on a piece of vellum and stitched to the card.  Black thread was used to frame the sentiment.  Prills were added to the center of the flowers.

This second card was for Korin's birthday…we know how much she loves her fur babies!

The paw prints from Kitty Love were white embossed on Neenah card stock and sponged with Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, and Ground Espresso distress ink.  The sentiments are from Kitty Love and LOL Cats and were white embossed then stamped again with Jet Black Archival ink.  The kitty in the middle is from the Valentine Critters stamp set and was cut with the matching Valentine Critters Die.

Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time…happy stamping!

Hugs,
Cathy

Window on Fall

Hello Everyone!

I am back from Colorado, from visiting fellow team member, Ceal, and I am thinking cool weather!  After all, it was snowing on August 1st at the top of the mountain we were on!   Yes, real snow!
Summer vacation is just about over as well.  [sigh].  With these things in mind, I created a fall scene, using a few Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps supplies.

I could use the Love Birds Stamp Set on just about every card.  I love the versatility of the branch.  For this card, I colored my branch and leaves with Copics.  Instead of using the matching die to cut out the image, I did some fussy cutting, as I wanted to cut off some of the leaves from the branches to allow them to rest on the window sill.
I wanted the look of a cool fall day, but with the warmth of home.  Faux barn wood  was made using the direct to paper technique with various shades of red and white ink.  The 'boards' were cut to about 5/8" wide from this inked cs and then mounted to some brown cs.
I added a window die cut to the barn boards and put a sweet kittie from the LOL Cats set sitting in the window.  The fussy cut branches and leaves were then adhered; a couple of the branches are popped up on dimensionals.  I love the new Tall Grass Die for embellishing and it works perfectly here as ornamental grass outside the window.
The sentiment from the Happy Home Stamp Set further adds the warmth I was wanting on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by;  I hope I have inspired you to think 'fall'!

Hugs!

Lee Ann  :)

Happy Purrrrrday!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!  A cat wearing a party hat and using a noise maker counts for a Happy New Year card, right?  WooHoo!  Here's to a 2014 filled with lots of crafty goodness!

Today's card features a sweet cat from the LOL Cats stamp set...a set filled with all kinds of darling cats and kitty friendly phrases.  I stamped the cat once on the circle and then a second time on a piece of scrap cardstock.  Once I colored in the second stamped image, I cut it out and used foam tape to pop up Mr. Party Cat.  I used a stamp block to bend the sentiment (just one of the reasons I love acrylic stamps!) around the circle.

Along with the stamp set, I also grabbed the Hearts Die set to create some fun cut outs on the left side of the card.  I simply layered a piece of designer paper behind the cuts outs and then used a white gel pen to add some faux stitching.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and you're off to a fabulous start to 2014!
