Home is Where You Are...

Hi friends! Kim here sharing a card that I created using the super cute Happy Home stamp set. (PS - This set would go great with the Hillside Edges dies!)

For my "scene," I started by cutting out a few hills from the Natural paper pad from Authentique (aren't those colors perfect for hills?)  I then used the Wendy Vecchi Sunburst stencil, and Wild Honey Distress Ink, to stencil the rays onto a piece of text paper (also from Authentique).  The house and trees were stamped on cardstock and watercolored, using Distress Markers and a water brush.  Then it was time to assemble!  The hills were faux stitched and the house and trees were tucked under the hills.  The last item was to add two clouds, cut out using the Clouds and Raindrop dies.  The sentiment was stamped on the bottom hill.

So, friends, this is going to be my last post for a while. I stepped down from the design team, for an undetermined amount of time. My hubby just received a job offer, after looking for six long months, in another state. Boo.... My craft supplies have been packed and our house in on the market so I need time to make the transition before jumping back in to regular crafting.

A great BIG thank you to Korin and the wonderful SNSS design team...Love you all! And thanks to the wonderful SNSS customers who support Korin's business!

Sending hugs and kisses!

A Little Happy Latch

Hope you are having a happy day today! Today I am sharing another example of a fun and easy "closure" to your cards - the Latch Card! You can see the tutorial HERE. I had some houses left over from a previous project, and decided to make a sweet little card for my daughter. She just moved into a new apartment and is getting married in ten days! So I mailed off this little greeting with some housewarming cash for her.

Stamps and dies are from the Happy Home stamp set and Happy Happy stamp set and die set.

Enjoy your day!

2014 Year in Review - Day 12: Happy Home

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Our count down to Christmas and the SNSS 2014 Year in Review will continue today with an adorable stamp set designed by Diane Zechman.

Today's feature is:
This darling stamp set can be used for so much more than its intended purpose as you will see as you take a look at the fabulous creations by the talented SNSS design team.  Janette and Monika have made two new cards using the Happy Home stamp set.

What a fun shaped card Monika made pairing the Happy Home stamp set with the new Hillside Edges Dies and the Fence Die.

Janette also paired a sentiment from Happy Home with the Hillside Edges Dies to create the snowy scene on the outside of her card.

And look at the inside…the silhouette house trio makes a wonderful border for her cute Christmas card!  Using the sentiments from Seasonal Wreaths, Janette was able to craft her own Christmas greeting!

Here are a few more creations using the Happy Home stamp set that were made during this past year:

I just love the watercolor look on Giovana's sweet card made with the house and tree images from the Happy Home stamp set.  The section of Fence and the Clouds perfectly complete her beautiful scene!

The little house and the trees from the Happy Home stamp set were colored and fussy cut to make this adorable card crafted by Kim!  Love how she pieced her scene on text paper, sponged the sun rays, and added a few Clouds to create a vintage look!

On this Christmas card created by me, the house trio from the Happy Home stamp set is tucked behind sponged snowy drifts.  The Light of Christmas is lightly stamped on the background.  The tree and deer are from the Christmas Silhouettes stamp set and the deer was cut with the coordinating Christmas Silhouettes Die.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Innies stamp set.

A ribbon ruffle grounds the little paper pieced house from Happy Home on this darling Mother's Day card created by Jessica.  The Mother Word Die featured earlier this month was used to cut the word, Mother, out of felt and the embossed sentiment is from the Thankful Innies stamp set.

Awwwwwww!  How cute is this little kitty from LOL Cats sitting in the window!  The sentiment is from the Happy Home stamp set.  The branch in the upper corner is from the Love Birds stamp set and was cut with the Love Birds Die Set.  The Tall Grass die cut finishes the scene perfectly!  Just adorable, Lee Ann!

Well…what do you think?  Isn't this just the cutest stamp set?  Right now it is marked down 25% at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store along with all of the other 2014 featured stamp sets.  This Christmas Sale will continue until the end of the month or as long as supplies last.

Wait until you see what we have in store for you tomorrow!  Be sure to stop back again for our SNSS 2014 Year in Review.

Mid Month Update

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!

Just wanted to let you know what a grand time we had at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in York this past weekend!  It was wonderful having a chance to meet you at the Reflection Class on Friday afternoon and again at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps booth on Saturday and Sunday.  We hope you enjoyed the "Make and Take," the displays, and your shopping experience!  I am always amazed at how far some of you travel to participate in this event!

On another note, you have really kept us hopping at the Sweet 'n Sassy Studio this month…not that we are complaining, mind you!  LOL!  All of the Sweet Perks Club bundles have been shipped and we are gearing up for the next big event which will be a Special Design Team Christmas Blog Hop.  We hope you will join us next Friday, October 24th, as the DT shares some of our favorite SNSS Christmas sets,  including some of the new dies just added to the store.  I know you will be inspired by the Design Divas' creations!

Finally, I have a card to share with you that was inspired by Korin's "Make and Take" from the York show.  An additional panel was added and a different stamp set was featured, but the sponging technique used is so versatile and can be easily adapted to many of the silhouette stamp sets carried
in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.

Light of Christmas was lightly stamped on the background with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, and the tree from the Christmas Silhouettes stamp set was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  Modeling paste snow was added to this panel but was mostly covered by the top two layers.  The backgrounds on the two top panels were masked and sponged with a combination of Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, and Seedless Preserves distress inks.  The tree was again stamped on both layers, while the houses from the Happy Home stamp set and a sentiment from Christmas Innies were stamped on the smaller panel.  (It was quite by accident that the tree image lined up on the two panels…love when things like that happen!)  The deer was stamped, cut with the matching Christmas Silhouettes Die, and popped onto the top of the card.  A white Sharpie paint pen and Wink of Stella were used to add shimmer and accents to the card. Thanks for the inspiration, Korin, as I really like how this card turned out!

Be sure to check back each day to find more inspiration for your Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!
Have a wonderful day!

Window on Fall

Hello Everyone!

I am back from Colorado, from visiting fellow team member, Ceal, and I am thinking cool weather!  After all, it was snowing on August 1st at the top of the mountain we were on!   Yes, real snow!
Summer vacation is just about over as well.  [sigh].  With these things in mind, I created a fall scene, using a few Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps supplies.

I could use the Love Birds Stamp Set on just about every card.  I love the versatility of the branch.  For this card, I colored my branch and leaves with Copics.  Instead of using the matching die to cut out the image, I did some fussy cutting, as I wanted to cut off some of the leaves from the branches to allow them to rest on the window sill.
I wanted the look of a cool fall day, but with the warmth of home.  Faux barn wood  was made using the direct to paper technique with various shades of red and white ink.  The 'boards' were cut to about 5/8" wide from this inked cs and then mounted to some brown cs.
I added a window die cut to the barn boards and put a sweet kittie from the LOL Cats set sitting in the window.  The fussy cut branches and leaves were then adhered; a couple of the branches are popped up on dimensionals.  I love the new Tall Grass Die for embellishing and it works perfectly here as ornamental grass outside the window.
The sentiment from the Happy Home Stamp Set further adds the warmth I was wanting on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by;  I hope I have inspired you to think 'fall'!

Hugs!

Lee Ann  :)

Where You Are...That Is Home

Hi all!  Sharing a card I created with the brand new Happy Home stamp set..a seriously darling set, which is just perfect for creating little scenes!

For my "scene," I started by cutting out a few hills from an Authentique paper pad (aren't those colors perfect for hills?)  I then used a stencil and Distress Ink to stencil the rays onto a piece of text paper.  The house and trees were stamped on cardstock and watercolored, using Distress Markers and a water brush.  Then it was time to assemble!  The hills were faux stitched and the house and tress tucked under the hills.  The last item was to add two clouds, cut out using a cloud die.  The sentiment was stamped on the bottom hill.

How fun it that?  Want to give this a try?  Grab the new Happy Home stamp set and start crafting!

Enjoy!
