Cocoa's Heart - I {Heart} You :-)

Happy Monday Sweet ‘n Sassy Friends!

Julie here and since we just celebrated a new Digital Stamp Release this past week, I thought I would share a fun Valentine’s Day card that I created with some of the digital stamps that were already in stock- Cocoa’s Heart and Valentine’s Day Greeting.

Did you know that Sweet ‘n SassyStamps has over 200 exclusive digital stamp images (also known as “digi’ or “digi's”) in the online store?

Are you intimidated by digi stamps?

You do not need to be...they are so easy to use and you can print them out and color them just like a normal stamp image.

One thing I personally love about digi stamps is that you can re-size them to fit your design- for this card, I printed out the Cocoa’s Heart image along with cropping the sentiment from the Valentine’s Day Greeting set.

FYI- I did re-size both images for this card and before printing them on my white cardstock, I also inserted other images onto the document (I can use the other images for several cards in the future :-)).

Also, were you aware that you can color digi images with watercolor pencils, sponging, ink with a water brush (Distress Inks, etc.), alcohol markers, regular colored pencils (plain or with Gamsol)- basically any medium that you use for regular stamps.

I print my images out with an inkjet printer, so the only tip I can recommend regarding coloring digital images would be not to saturate the image with too much water or get too close to the printed lines with water (the printer ink can bleed a bit into the coloring medium if it is too wet).

I decided to color the Cocoa’s Heart image using Spectrum Noir™ Alcohol Markers and used a Faber-Castell® Pitt Penn marker to add the border.

After coloring, I “fussy-cut” out the heart and mounted the image onto white cardstock and cut around the heart by hand to create a white border.

I wanted to add some shimmer, so I used a waterbrush to paint Frost White Shimmer Paint over the entire heart (but tried to avoid Cocoa)...it is a bit difficult to see the shimmer in the photo (fyi- I also added Crystal Effects® to Cocoa’s nose, but again, this is difficult to see in the photo :-)).

The sentiment from Valentine's Day Greetings was printed and banners were created with a hexagon punch (although you can also create really fun banners with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Banner Dies- these are on my "wish list").

I mounted the banner onto a piece of black cardstock and layered everything onto the card using the Splitcoaststampers’ SC568 Sketch Challenge for inspiration.

I hope we have inspired you to try some of the digital images for yourself- if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!!

With Love from Cocoa

Hello everyone~
It is Maki and is my turn to post today.
We still have about 10 more days till Valentine's Day and I hope you like it.
I used Cocoa's Heart for the image and sentiment. Instead of coloring the whole image with Copic markers, I paper pieced the heart part and then adhered the Cocoa after I colored.

This card was also submitted to the Sketch Challenge from Splitcoaststampers (SC421).

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

With Love

Hello everyone, Jennie here with you today sharing a card I made using Cocoa's Heart

I embossed the front of a card panel with a dotted embossing folder and added some Crate Paper patterned paper. The image was stamped with Versafine Oynx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Cocoa's Heart ~

Good Morning! Mary here with Cocoa's Heart for your Thursday Morning view ~ The new releases and the five day mini blog hops were fun and very inspiring. I hope you were able to comment on the blogs to win some prizes! :)

My love for Cocoa goes back before I was on any of SNSS design teams. I fell in love with this sweet mouse at my LSS and the rest is history as the saying goes. I coloured this image using copics and cut him out by hand. I added some heart and scallop border dies to my design. This heart die matches the newly released Bottom of my heart set which creates some awesome "to die for" hearts. I stamped three rows of xoxo's amidst the music notes for some romantic flair.

Have a great day!!!

Materials used:
Stamps: Cocoa's Heart, Bottom of my Heart
Dies: Hearts, Scallop border die
Paper: EP, MME, SU
Inks: Versafine ink, Memento Ink, Copics
Accessories: Seam binding ribbon

Key to My Heart

Hello friends...Cathy here with another Sneak Peak at one of the new clear stamp sets being released tomorrow at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Cocoa's Heart, perfect for sending love to your special someone, features the adorable Cookie and Cocoa and is sure to melt your heart.

BasicGrey papers from the Kissing Booth paper pad were stitched to Cherry Cobbler card stock and attached to a Vintage Cream card base. Embossed hearts and a Romantic Rectangle form the background for Cookie and Cocoa who were colored with Copic Markers, cut out, and popped on.  The heart was paper pieced with some of the same DP used on the card front.  The other stamped and embossed hearts are from another new set being released tomorrow, and were cut with matching heart dies...SWOON!  A little heart charm, ribbon, and some Stickles finish the card.  The Sweet Stop sketch for this week was used for the card design.

If you've enjoyed the Sneak Peeks you've been seeing the last several days, you won't want to miss tomorrow's release.  Come join us here and on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Member Forum at Splitcoaststampers tomorrow for some fun challenges and a chance to win some wonderful prizes!

Hope to see you there...thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Cathy
