Prim Blessings Shaker

Hello! It's Monika here today with a shaker card. I love making shaker elements... they add such a COOL touch to a simple card. Here, I turned a sunflower into a shaker embellishment.
It was so much fun to make the shaker part... I stamped the big sunflower from Prim Blessings clear stamp set on watercolor paper, twice... then colored the images with ZIG watercolor brush markers. (If you don't like to color, you only have to do the petals of one image and the middle part of the second image.) I filled my shaker with microbeads, chunky glitter and flat sequin pieces.

The greeting is from Keep in Touch, Too clear stamp set. The background was water colored with green pigment powder (Nuance from Magenta).

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Faith, Hope and Love

Hello Sweet Friends!  Today I am sharing a card created with the Prim Blessings Clear Stamp Set (designed by Diane Zechman).

My hubby and I love watching birds and many of our feeders are filled with black oil sunflower seeds.  One day we hope to plant some of our own sunflowers to attract even more birds, but knowing us, we shall see if that ever happens- lol!!  In the meantime, I can create sunflowers with these gorgeous stamp images!

I heat embossed the sunflower images on white cardstock using black archival ink and clear embossing powder.  Once the powder cooled, I used water-based markers to watercolor the flowers, fussy-cut each petal and layered them onto designer paper.

Did you notice how I created the one panel of "designer paper" by stamping the sentiment repeatedly in an offset pattern? An easy way to create your own paper using stamps :-)

I used glossy accents on all of the hearts, added a bit of shimmer to the flower centers and petals using a clear glitter pen and finished off the card with a scrap piece of knotted twine. Fairly quick and this card reminds me of summer- how about you?

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit us today! Hugs and I hope all of you have a very blessed week!

I Am Loved

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a card that reflects a bit of patriotic colors, summer flowers and the freedom that we have here in the United States.

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends".  John 15:13  NKJV

Today is Memorial Day here in the United States and may we never forget the men and women who laid down their lives to defend our country and the families that they left behind....we are free because they were faithful.

This card was designed using Grunge Elements, Grunge Elements 2, I Am Loved and Prim Blessings clear stamp sets.

On a piece of white cardstock, I masked an area for the “stars” on my homemade flag and stamped the Grunge Elements 2 heart image with Versamark™ Ink and heat embossed wut white embossing powder.

After the powder cooled, I applied Ranger® Tim Holtz® Faded Denim Distress Ink and removed the mask. I re-masked the heart “star” area and stamped the strip image from Grunge Elements using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Fired Brick Distress Ink (overlapping the images in a row to create the stripes).

The background seemed a bit bright so I lightly applied Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and a light layer of Gesso®.

I trimmed the panel and embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder, added the knotted hemp twine and mounted it onto the black card base.

I stamped the sunflowers from Prim Blessings and used a water brush to watercolor the images with markers along with distress inks and finished off with a coat of Clear Wink of Stella®.

To finish off the card, I mounted the three sunflowers to the card front, added the fussy cut heat embossed image of the girl from I Am Loved with dimensional foam and the layered heat embossed sentiment from Prim Blessings.

I had fun creating this card and hope that you enjoyed it- hugs and have a blessed day!

Sending Warm Wishes to Cheer You

Hello Wednesday Friends!

Get Well Innies is one of two brand new stamp set we have in the store.  It has lots of sweet sentiments.  I used one on the front of my card and one on the inside too.

I used two other stamp sets to make my card - Prim Blessings and Baked for You. The sunflowers are from Prim Blessings and the little flower accents are from Baked for You.  I die cut and colored my sunflower images and built my card from there.  The Get Well Innies worked perfectly on this particular card layout.

Be sure to drop by the store to see the new sets that were just added.  I think you will love them both.  Here are the sets I used to fashion today's card:

Have a great day and we'll be back very soon with another post.

2 cards and a journal

Hello SNSS friends... happy Tuesday!

Today I have a couple of completely different projects to share!  First I have a card I recently made using my Snowman Soup stamp set (It now has matching dies!).

I wanted to create a “hot cocoa” background…boy was that a challenge!  lol.  But I liked how it turned out. I just "smooshed" ink onto a craft mat, spritzed with water, and laid my cardstock on top.  My snowy guy was colored with Copics and popped up.  I masked off the word “you” in my sentiment and replaced it with a big diecut word.  Then I stamped a few extra marshmallows to float in my chocolately background.

My next card is for an anniversary and I used my Prim Blessings stamp set which ALSO has new matching dies

A close-up of this CAS card...

And last I have a super quick journal I decorated.  I used the Sweet 'n Sassy sets called Wildflowers and His Peace.

This was reaaallly a quick project...I had about 20 minutes to make it.  LOL.  I started with a pre-purchased journal and picked out the sentiment I wanted to use.  Then I found a pretty flower image to stamp as a background.  I snapped a quick pic and sent it on it's way.  Later I realized that I forgot to add some pearls or bling!  ugh.  I hope the recipient likes it anyway!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

♥  Diane

Faith Hope Love

Oh my goodness! I just love these adorable sheep. Even though I collect giraffes, and that is my main animal (except for my dog, Fiona!), I have always had a soft spot for sheep. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I was the surrogate mother for a sheep whose own mother abandoned it. My grandpa taught me to feed it with a huge rubber bottle cover/nipple and an empty Sprite bottle (they were glass then!). So -- here are some super cute ewes for you!

For my card, I chose Prim Blessings, along with the matching die set.

I stamped my sheep in Memento Tuxedo Black, and then used my C1, C3 and C5 Copics to make their wool and color them in. I used B000 and R83 for the extras. The sentiment is stamped on a cloud cut from the Happy Happy die set and the grass die can be found here.

The card and inset (sky) was purchased from a vendor at a stamp show. The sunflower was a perfect fit for the tent topper placement! I added some paper piercing around the edge for added visual interest. I stamped the inside lower left corner with the little "Blessings to Ewe" sentiment included in the set.
I love this cute set because it's so versatile and I can make lots of different designs with it!

Live Love Bloom

There is something about fall that just gives my soul such life. I don't know if it's the cooler air after the heat, or the changing leaves, or football season (ha!), or what. But there is a sense of renewal there for me, just like in the spring, after the cold.

I love the sentiment "live love bloom" from Prim Blessings. And for all the sunflowers out there, with their faces to the sun, that's exactly what they do. Today's card is a simple one -- but the bright colors and upside-down banners catch your attention.  I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, and then colored in with Copic markers. The sunflowers are cut with the Prim Blessings dies.

This is such a versatile set, and I plan to use it a lot! With its cute sheep, birds, and hearts, and the sunflowers above, I can get all sorts of occasions from it, even when it isn't fall!

Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to check out the SNSS NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP that was posted yesterday! Just scroll down to the September 11 post!

Sweet Autumn

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Have any plans for the weekend?  How about heading over to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store to catch the good news…The Sweet Perks Club is back!  YEA!!   It's Cathy here, sharing a few cards to get you ready for the fall season which is quickly approaching…and yes, each card features some of the fabulous stamps and dies that are part of the new Sweet Perks Club release.

This first card uses the new Autumn Leaves Bundle.  Memento inks were sponged onto the background and spritzed with water removing some of the ink creating a little texture.  The leaves were stamped on another sponged panel and die cut.  The Skeleton Leaf Background was embossed with Seafoam Powder and the color was sponged over the embossing.  The sentiment was stamped in the corner…stitching, seam binding, and pearls were added to finish the card.

My second card features the Prim Blessings Bundle…oh this is such a cute set…love all the sweet images and sentiments in this bundle!

A stencil was used to sponge a honeycomb pattern on the background with some sunflowers stamped on a few of the hexagons.  Three sunflowers were colored with Copic Markers and placed inside the die cut frame along with the little crow.  The sentiment was stamped and the little heart added as an accent.  This was cut and matted with Spellbinders Nesties.  Pearls and Baker's Twine tie everything together to finish the card.

So what are you waiting for?  You can find all the SWEET details for the Sweet Perks Club by clicking the logo below.
Thanks so much for stopping by…we love hearing from you!
Have a wonderful weekend!

'Bokeh' water-color cards...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you couple of colorful cards. I am absolutely smitten with water color techniques these days, especially with the 'Bokeh' technique. HERE is a great video on how to do one of the versions.

On my first card, I used bold Fall colors:

I used yellow, orange and crimson water-colors (any type of inexpensive water color set will work) on the background. The secret is to use water color paper! Just like in the video, I created my own  circle template out of window sheet. I die-cut the circles using my Spellbinders dies.
The heat embossed greeting is from So Thankful clear stamp set. The leaf was die-cut with one of the dies from Season of Change die set.

The second card is just as bold, but with different colors (you might have seen this card on Split Coast Stampers):

Here, I used yellow, blue and green colors. The sunflower and greetings came from Prim Blessings clear stamp set. The leaves were die-cut with one of the dies from Small Leaves die set.

I hope I have inspired you to try this fun technique or just make something fun today...

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika
