Valentine Teddy

Hi there Sweet 'n Sassy Friends! 

It's Ceal here to share a card using one of my favorite valentine sets, Valentine Critters. 

The images in this set are so adorable! 

To make my card I started with a white card base, a white panel cut down with a stitched die and a scrap of watercolor paper for the bear. I stamped the bear in waterproof ink and then colored it with Zig cleancolor pens. I cut him out with the coordinating Valentine Critters dies (discontinued). I added some washi tape to the front of the stitched panel and popped the teddy bear up using foam tape. To finish the card I added some sequins along with some tiny gold hearts.

Valentine Background Fun!

I have a fun background today (haha, I feel like I have been saying that a lot lately - YAY Me!!) - I have been wanting to do a background collage of images... so for this technique, I went with digis. The beauty of a digi is that you can change their size, in the case of this card, move them around on the paper as many times as you want before committing to the layout, and even flipping the image if you want. Pretty convenient for this type of project!

My digis include: Valentine Birdie Digital Stamp, Valentine Kitty, Valentine Bunny with Sentiment Digital Stamp, Valentine Teddy with Sentiment Digital Stamp and the sentiment is from the You & Me Clear Stamp Set (not a digi because white embossing and digis - not so much...)

It turned out sweet right? Now it is your turn - create a simple card with an image filled background. This works with clear/rubber stamps too! I can't wait to see what you create!

Be Encouraged

Hello sweet friends!  What a fun week we had celebrating Korin's Birthday.  We hope you enjoyed the special birthday discounts and entering the contest for the free giveaway!  Because of the overwhelming response, it may take a little while to compile the list for the random selection, but be sure to stay tuned…we will be announcing the winner of that fabulous gift bundle soon!  

I do have two cards to share with you today!

The background was made by covering an acrylic block with Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral, and Candied Apple distress inks and spritzing them with water before pressing them onto a piece of Bristol Board card stock.  The Long Stem Silhouettes image was stamped on the background after it dried.  A sentiment from the Be Encouraged 2 stamp set was white embossed on a piece of vellum and stitched to the card.  Black thread was used to frame the sentiment.  Prills were added to the center of the flowers.

This second card was for Korin's birthday…we know how much she loves her fur babies!

The paw prints from Kitty Love were white embossed on Neenah card stock and sponged with Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, and Ground Espresso distress ink.  The sentiments are from Kitty Love and LOL Cats and were white embossed then stamped again with Jet Black Archival ink.  The kitty in the middle is from the Valentine Critters stamp set and was cut with the matching Valentine Critters Die.

Love Notes.....Just For You!

{jane bosi}  Happy Snowy Wednesday, Sweet Friends!!  Here in Wisconsin, we are busy digging out from our very first MAJOR storm of the year!  What a doozy, too!  It was the perfect reason to stay home and stamp, though!

I made this cute little covered notebook with attached pen for a special friend of mine.  I've found these cute little magnetic list pads in a variety of places....dollar zones, office supply.  I've noticed that they range in size from place to place, but once you have the basics of the pad down, it is easy to adjust the dimensions to accommodate your specific pad.

The added touch lies in the pen holder.  Here are the basics so you can try a go at it yourself!  Start with piece of cardstock that measures 2 3/4" x 10 1/2".  Score along the short side at 3/4", 1", 1 3/4" and 2".  Rotate the card stock and score along the longer length at 4 1/2", 4 3/4", 9" and 9 1/4".  Crease all score lines and then trim as shown:

You'll have to create a hole (for the pen or pencil) using either a scissors or small hole punch.  I've used a 1/2" punch. The trick is to fold the card stock along the bottom scored line (when the piece is oriented as shown)  Punch a half circle on the scored line making sure not to extend beyond the top score.  Clear as mud?

 Using tacky tape and the scored lines, reinforce the top card stock and create the "box" that holds the pen(cil) as shown:

I've included a picture of the piece from the front also.  You will secure this to the notebook cover and when you do so, be sure the top piece is flush with the box top as seen here:

I decorated this with Valentine Critters and the matching dies.  I just love those little guys!  Clearly, I couldn't pick just one!  The sentiment comes from Keep In Touch, Too. I'm feeling a bit inspired--I think I'll be making a few more!

Hello!  January is flying by and my thoughts are turning to Valentine's Day.  It will be upon us quick!

 

Today I am sharing a card using my Valentine Critters stamp set which also has coordinating dies.

 

This is a 4 1/4" square card with some Box Pleats on the strip of floral patterned paper.  I started with a strip that is 1 1/2" x 12".

 

Using a Scor-Pal scoring board, I scored the strip at the following marks- 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 4, 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 6, 7, 7 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 10, 10 1/2, and 11 1/2 inches.  You will fold with a mountain/valley/valley/mountain pattern to look like this:

 

I made this card before the matching dies were available but now I love being able to cut the images so quickly and cleanly!

Valentine Bookmark

Hello! It's Monika here today bringing you a sweet bookmark. Valentin's Day is just around the corner so I decided to make my project extra SWEET!

 

The bookmark shape was die-cut with the Bookmarks & More die set. I used the cute little teddy from Valentine Critters clear stamp set. To make it quick and easy, I stamped the image on a piece of designer paper, then fussy cut it. Just a note: if you don't like cutting, the stamp set has a coordinating die set.

 

 

The background was stamped with the hearts from Grunge Elements 2 clear stamp set.  To make the background more fun (and because the sweet bear looked a bit too sad against the simple background), I created a scene with the Bare Tree and Fence & Grass die sets. The little hearts were die-cut with the Heart die set.

 

 

I adhered couple of magnet strips inside of the front and back panels, so the bookmark would clip onto a page.

 

I hope I inspired you to create something today!

Bunny Love

Happy Monday Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!

 Ceal here, half of January is over and it will  be Valentines day before you know it so I am sharing this CAS Valentines card with you. I started with a red card base and embossed my panel with a heart embossing folder. I chose the cute bunny from the Valentine Critters set and colored him with some Zig Clean Color brush markers. I added some design papers to give the from a little more color. I also used the Valentine Critter Die set to cut him out, much faster than fussy cutting. The inside greeting is "You have a special place in my heart" also from the set.

It's Ceal here to share a card with you using one of our Valentine sets, Valentine Critters. This is such a cute set and it doesn't just have to be for valentines, you can also make the cutest baby cards with these critters. Because it is Valentine Day today I chose to make a valentine card using the cute bear image.  

This was a quick and easy card to make I just cut a panel out of design paper and layered it on my white card base. Next I stamped the image and colored it up with Copic markers. I added a little banner at the bottom and three little hearts to finish it off. 

floating elephant- Pull Tab Slider Card

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  It's my turn to share a tutorial today.  With Valentine's Day approaching, I created a fun Pull Tab Slider Card using the elephant and a sentiment from my Valentine Critters stamp set and the matching set of dies.

When you pull the tab, the elephant and balloons "float" through the air and reveal the sentiment!

You can make the pull tab vertical or horizontal, according to how you orient your card and which direction you want your image to move.  Let's get started!

You will begin with a card base, a cardstock or patterned paper layer, a cardstock piece for the sliding panel, and 3 punched circles. See measurements in the photo below.  Note: I made my cardstock base slightly shorter than a normal A2 card to allow for the pull tab to extend beyond the base a bit, and still fit into an A2 envelope.  So, start with 4 1/4 x 10 and score at 5".

Besides the papers shown above, you will need an additional scrap of white cardstock for your image.  Stamp and diecut your image.

Color your image and set it aside.

Next, create a slot in the layer by sliding a punch in from the right side as far as it will go and punching twice.  You can also cut a slot with a ruler and craft knife.  My slot is 3/8" wide.

Adhere the first circle to the short side of the sliding panel to create a pull tab.  Next I applied a strip of 1/8" wide Scor-Tape down the center of the second circle and adhered the third circle on top of it.

Slightly bend the sides of the two circles that were joined.  The adhesive strip holds them together in the center.

Slip each side of the joined circles into the slot in the punched layer.

Turn the layer over and slide the circles all the way to the left (this will be the bottom of the card).  Apply adhesive to the circle shown.

Center the sliding panel with three sides, keeping the side with the tab in line with the fourth side (this will be the top).  Lay the sliding panel in place, adhering it to the cardstock circle underneath.  See photo below for placement.
Add foam tape to the three exposed sides as shown.  Remove backing from the foam tape to expose sticky surface.

Turn the layers over and adhere to the card base with the pull tab and card fold on the top.  Attach your image to the circle shown.

Pull the tab up and stamp your sentiment.  Note: Keep the sentiment to the left so it does not show through the slot when the sliding panel is down.

Then decorate your card as desired.
