Christmas Joy

Today I am showcasing a card from the Christmas Joy stamp Set.  Cardinals are just perfect for Christmas, aren't they?  Such a beautiful red against green pine trees or white sparkling snow.

Diana Nguyen, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Christmas Joy

To make this card, I first stamped in Antique Linen distress inks and then colored in with watercolor brush pens.  I then went back and stamped several times to get the clearer outline in different colors.  I used a die-cut to cut it out and sponged the edges.  I added a banner and bow against some Christmas paper I found in my stash.

And remember, today is the last day for Free Shipping with your $30 order.  Please use the code BDAYFREESHIP.

Winter Cardinal

Hello Everyone!

Are you as thrilled as me that we are into the month of November?  I love this time of year- not quite crazy busy yet, but all of the anticipation of the holiday season.  Christmas cards seem to be on everyone's priority card making list right now; I used the Christmas Joy Stamp Set for this traditional Christmas Card.

This chubby cardinal is one of my all time favorite bird images, if not my favorite. I colored him with Copics and then fussy cut out around the pine cone and lower branches of the pine bough for an 'outside the box' look.  There is a new matching die for this image, but since I did not want to cut the entire image out, I did not use it.  The sentiment, which is from the Winter Girls Stamp Set, is stamped in a strip across the card; it is embellished with a scalloped strip that was die cut with the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Scallop Border Die.   I added buttons and twine to add to what I consider to be a cozy, somewhat country feel to this card.  I also added glitter to the branch and pine cone for a bit of shimmer.

That's it for me- Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps products!

My card for you today was made from one of the new Sweet Perks Bundles
being offered until October 9th!
The cardinal from the new Christmas Joy Bundle was colored with Copic markers.  Having a matching die makes cutting the image a snap so it can be placed anywhere on your card.  Behind the window frame snowflakes from the Small Snowflakes Die Set and tree die cuts from the
Forest Silhouettes Die Set were used to create a wintery scene for this Christmas card
which will go to one of the special men in my family this Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
 Enjoy your Day!

Window on Winter

Hello Everyone!
I am excited to share today's card with you as it offers a sneak peek of two of the sets being released on the 8th of this month- Tender Thoughts and Winter Girls.

I tend to be an outdoorsy, back to nature sort of girl; can you tell by my card?!  :)

The birch trees from the soon to be released Tender Thoughts set were embossed in white and then used as the background panel for my shaker window.  I stamped and die cut my deer silhouette, using the matching die for the Tender Thoughts set.  I added 'snow' and the deer die to my window.  The pine branch and pine cones are actually a portion of the image from the Christmas Joy Stamp Set.  The sentiment is from another soon to be released set, Winter Girls;  I just love this font!
I have more details on how I made this card on my blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by!   Lee Ann  :)

Seasons Greetings

Oh ok...so as much as I want to delay the onslaught of colder weather, the truth is that Christmas is just around the corner! Is it too early to start thinking about the creation of holiday cards? Just don't remind me of how much work is on the horizon...**smile**

I definitely had the holidays on my mind when I created this card using one of our newly released stamp sets, Christmas Joy. I love this birdie image and had a great time coloring it with Copic markers. I even got a little crazy and stamped the bird and pine cone twice so I could pop up the images. Got to love that added dimension!

My designer paper is from Imaginsce and the word background is from a new embossing folder, which was used on Tim Holtz kraft Core-dinations paper (sand the embossed areas for a nice kraft accent!) The flowers are from Petaloo and this sweet layout is from a former Sweet Stop challenge.

Enjoy!
