Last July Guest post with Summertime Rhubarb by Jessica Diedrich...

Hey, everyone!
One of my favorite songs right now is Keith Urban's "Long Hot Summer".  I love it!  It always puts a smile on my face and is one of those 'feel good, turn it up, windows down, cruise around" kind of songs :)
I wish I could say the same for our SUMMER!  Our kids go back to school TOMORROW.  I cannot believe I have a 7th grader, two 4th graders, and a 1st grader this year.  What happened to my babies?!?   We are going to be BUSY, whew!
It's also my last post as Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy today and what better way to say farewell to summer and to SNSS (thanks so much for having me!) than with another "Summertime Rhubarb" card?    Here's our little friend all happy in his inner tube one more time:
Well, I had a BLAST as July Guest and again, thanks to Taylor and Korin for having me!  See you soon, everybody!
xoxo.

Something Old...Some thing New!

When you read the title of this post, you probably thought you would find a wedding card!  Surprise!  Truthfully...at 5:00 this morning, I was reading through my 150 e-mails I received while on my beach vacation, and saw that it was my turn to post....so I scrambled to find something. What I found lying on my desk was one old and one very new Sweet 'n Sassy characters, Cookie and Kiwi!

Sometimes it's nice to send a card "just because!"  What better way to surprise a friend than with a little note letting her know how special she is!  Girly Girl Cookie is just the ticket and she's on sale right now over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  Her shiny red lipstick and glittery nail polish is a great reminder to take time to pamper yourself every once in a while!  Some fun patterned paper, stitching, and a little glitter make this a perfect "girly" card!  Even though Cookie is an older character, she is still a cutie patootie!

Now for the new kid on the block.  Have you met Kiwi yet?  Let me introduce you!

Isn't this little koala just adorable...a wonderful new addition to the character line-up at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!  The Kiwi Koala's Watermelon Digital Stamp was colored with copic markers, and to give him some nubby texture, colorless blender ink was dripped onto an old washcloth and dabbed onto his fur.  I hope we'll be seeing more of Kiwi!

Old or new...I think you'll agree...Sweet 'n Sassy characters are a fabulous way to send hugs and smiles to your loved ones!

Thanks for stopping by...have a blessed Monday!

Hugs,
Cathmac

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hi there!

Jessica here with a shabby chic sympathy card to share with you today that I created using several Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp sets.  The butterflies and dies are from New Beginnings, the bird is from Under His Wings, and the sentiment from Bridge of Hope.  They all combined beautifully to make a sympathy card for a dear friend of mine who recently lost her father.

Have a wonderful rest of your day -
Jessica

Vintage Holiday Sentiments ~

stamps: Vintage Ornaments
It has been the most wonderful time of the year...here at Sweet'nSassy with the recent Christmas in July Bloghop and limited pre-release of the sets I am featuring today. These sets will be officially released later this Fall in time for your Christmas crafting pleasure.

stamps: Christmas Sentiments, Holiday Baubles

I have been challenging myself to keep my cards CAS. I am not yet convinced it's simple. ;-) The first card is one layer stamping in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation and added some bling to the centres of the ornaments. These are so much fun to work with and the paper had the words printed on it already. taa-daa!!

The second card features the holiday baubles stamped using markers and then shadowed them using crumb coloured ink. I stamped the sentiment in two layers rather than across and cut it out using SNSS decorative plaque dies. I simulated the patterned paper with a snowflake embossing folder.

Have a fun weekend!

Celebrate

Happy Thursday everyone!  Hey...it's almost the weekend!!  So today, let's talk about dies, shall we?  Any guesses on what one of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy dies?  That's right, the Star Set!  I use this set constantly!  It's perfect for my little boy scrapbook projects, welcome baby cards, 4th of July creations, and even cards that are entirely white and contain only one word!!

As you might have guessed, this project contains most of the star sizes that come with the Star Die Set.  I also incorporated some embossing (behind all those stars), edge punching (a super old punch from SU!) and a tiny bit 'o bling.  The sentiment shown on the card is from the Rose Collage
 stamp set.

So how about you?  What's your favorite die and have you check out all that SNSS has to offer?  Once you find the die that you love, why not give an all white card a try...It's a really fun challenge!

And all things...

Hello my friends! Giovana here bringing you a little bit of Fall colors today. I am so ready to Fall (my favorite season), so I decided to create a card using its colors.
For my card, I used a 3 different stamp sets and 2 sets of dies. I added some edge distressing and stitches. I stamped the butterflies direct on to Patterned Paper. The ink I used is Aged Mahogany Distress. Pretty comfy card, don't you think?

Summertime Rhubarb with Guest Jessica Diedrich!

Hi, everyone!

I'm back again with another fun take on a set I absolutely adore- Summertime Rhubarb!   I'm a summer baby so I have LOTS of fond memories of ice cream and water fun at many a birthday party :)  While I love pretty much all of the Sweet 'n Sassy line, sweet little Rhubarb here has had a special place in my heart for a while and I always feel a teeny bit of nostalgia when I look at his cute and cuddly designs!

I celebrated my birthday yesterday and thought about how fast this summer has gone.  I say that every year, but truly, this one flew faster than the last few I can remember.  My kids start school in just a week from tomorrow- crazy!  When I was figuring out what image to use today, I came across this Summertime Rhubarb and it really just stuck me that this is "classic" summer.  Ice cream and childhood.  Not a care in the world, just as it should be:

I used some birthday goodie paper I got from a good friend and colored up little Rhubarb here w/ my Copics.

Sweet summer wishes is the sentiment for this card- and well?  My sweet summer wish would be that it just didn't go by as quickly next year, maybe.  My littles are only going to be little for so long and I'm really loving the summer memories we are creating as the months go by.

Thanks again for letting me hang out with you and be sure to check out the entire July release available at the SNSS store!  Until next week!

xoxo,
Jess <3

Be Still And Know

For my post today, I decided to take a break from Christmas in July.  Don't get me wrong - I'm loving it!  But I decided to celebrate an anniversary - one year ago, I was a guest designer at Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.  They sent me Beauty by the Sea and Ocean Paradise to play with.  I was most amused - after all, what does a land-locked Colorado gal know about the ocean - but I had a great time playing along.  I decided to pull the Ocean Paradise set out again today and I paired it with this verse from the set Peaceful Swans.

(I stretched a little tulle in the window to give it a misty, peaceful look.)

I hope that in the middle of your busy day, you are able to find moments of peace!

Fun With Images, Dies, and Numbers

**Looking for our Christmas in July Blog Hop?  Check out this post for all the information on our Christmas stamp sale, new sets available for purchase, and details on how YOU can play along with us!**

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a butterfly card. Hopefully you are not tired of them yet. I just can't seem to put my New Beginnings clear stamp set and New Beginnings Butterfly die set away!  A must have in every craft room if you ask me!

As you can see, I used a number of stamp sets along with the butterfly: Nature Silhouettes, Kindness (quote), Vintage Postcard (5c), and Ticket Sentiments. Don't be afraid of mixing up your images. It's so much fun to play around with the different sets and styles.

Other than stamps, I also love playing with dies... and Sweet 'n Sassy now has a nice selection of fabulous dies that are made in the USA. I used the brand new Decorative Plaque dies along with Pennants & More (ticket), and Heart die set.

My favorite way of using the butterfly image is stamping it on vellum, and on regular card stock (after die-cutting the images). The 2 layers are just perfect together.

The little ticket tag slides out and it can hold a special message. I just made sure that I didn't glue the coral panel and plaque down all the way.

The fun sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS 168. We have a spin on our sketch this week: fun with numbers (I dry embossed my background designer paper with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix plate and brayered brown ink on top)... and we also have a PRIZE! Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your weekend!
Monika

He Knows and Cares

Hi, it's Bridget here today to share with you a card made using what's become one of my favorite sets,
New Beginnings.  I just can't get enough of those butterflies, especially with the matching dies!
I used this sentiment from the set Elegant Blessings because these two facts have been
especially meaningful to me over the past few months -
God knows what I'm going through, and He cares about every detail of my life.
Though I don't have anyone in particular in mind right now to send this card to, I know that there will be someone who will need God's gentle and loving reminder as much as I have recently.
I've used the layout from the Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today, Taylor gave us such a fantastic one to play with this week!
Have a wonderful day,
Bridget

Beautiful Bridge of Hope...by Jessica Diedrich

Hi, everyone!

Happy Tuesday and I'm excited to be back as your guest designer today.   I don't know about you, but sympathy cards are one of the hardest cards for me to make.   I am a very emotional person and when I know a friend or loved one is hurting, it's really hard to sit down and even be able to "think" to hammer out a card.

I actually try to keep a few on hand so that I'm prepared, but also have the time to spend helping that person through it vs. crafting at that time.   I am always struggling to find the "right" stamp set, too.  Well, I was, until I found this GORGEOUS image and sentiment set by Dina for Sweet 'n Sassy, "Bridge of Hope":

I have to say that while sympathy cards probably aren't anyone's favorite to make, this set is SO pretty, I'll definitely be finding other uses for it, too!  The quality of the clear stamp is wonderful too- there are so many beautiful details on this stamp, aren't there?

I colored up Bridge of Hope with my Copic markers and added some color in the background to form a sunset.  This is probably one of my favorite images I've ever colored.     The fonts and scripture verses are also beautiful and if you are in need of an encouragement or sympathy set, look no further, seriously!

Thanks for letting me spend Tuesdays with Sweet 'n Sassy!  See you next week!

xoxo,
Jess <3

Grateful

Happy Monday and pray your week is starting off well!  I am thrilled to be on the SNSS DT and have a card to share today that I made using the sketch challenge from SCS last week.  I used Sheltering Cherry Blossom and Music Background for my design and combined it with a sentiment from Many Thanks.   Liquid Pearls were added to the center of each flower and I accented the sentiment with a floral/leaf die.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Christmas in July!

Good morning Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Cathy here with an early Christmas card.  This Thursday, on July 19th, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will be hosting a Christmas in July Blog Hop.  I am looking forward to hopping with some very talented SNSS design team members!  So often I am scrambling to get my cards done at the last minute.  Soooo....I'm taking every opportunity to get an early start on my Christmas card stash!  My card today uses the Cardinal Digital Stamp and this week's Sweet Stop Sketch.

This is just one of many wonderful bird images at the SNSS store.  I printed out the Cardinal Digi on Neenah Solar White card stock and used the Out-of-the-Box technique and a circle Nestie to cut out the image.  The cardinal is colored with Copic Markers and some Glossy Accents, White Gel Pen, and Stickles were added for some Christmas sparkle!  The papers are from Echo Park's Winter Park Paper Pad.  All of the layers were stitched to a Pure Luxury card front.  Some white twine and rhinestones were added to finish the card!

I hope you will hop along with us on Thursday to see more Christmas goodness!  You will not want to miss the special deals, fun, and PRIZES! You may be inspired to get a start on your Christmas cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by...have a blessed day!

Hugs,
Cathymac
