oh baby

Good morning! I'm back with a few cards for this month’s Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps release. I have several cards today using the Oh Baby Stamp & Die Bundle (also sold separately) and the stamp of the month, Grunge Stripe Background. I also used the Starry Night Stencil and Stars Dies.

For my first card, I started with the Grunge Stripe Background and then turned it 90° and stamped it again to create a plaid. I used the Starry Night Stencil and Stars Dies to coordinate with the stars in the stamp set.

This next card is super fun! I made a bunch for some friends' birthdays with a butterfly on the front and they loved them. I thought this sweet baby carriage would be super cute too! I found the directions for this fun fold card here.

To open this gate-fold style card, the sides are bent back and the carriage is attached to the center fold. So fun!

For my last card, I was playing around with stamping the onesie image onto several different scraps of patterned paper from the same pad. I had enough stamped and cut to make three baby girl mini slim cards with this simple layout!

Have a great day!
Diane

Today I am re-visiting Stars Die Set:

...and I have a cool shaker card for you:

The background was made with various distress ink daubers (Tim Holtz). The shaker stars are filled with sweet little stars and micro beads.

The greetings came from You're a Star and Ticket Sentiments clear stamp sets.

SWEET peek...

Hello! It's Monika here today, giving you couple of SWEET peeks of the soon-to-be (and when I say soon, I mean less then 24 hours!) released What's Up? and Birthday Word Art clear stamp sets.

First up is BIRTHDAY WORD ART clear stamp set. Birthday is THE occasion I most likely to send out a card for...

I went for an elegant look with this card. I heat embossed the greeting with white embossing powder. The butterfly is from MAJESTIC MONARCHS clear stamp set, and it was die cut with the coordinating MONARCH DIES

My second card is totally different, something fun and playful... a simple shaker card, using WHAT'S UP? clear stamp set along with the STAR DIE SET

This set is full of great words and arrows! I used 3 of the sentiments to build my greeting...

I hope you will join us tomorrow for our RELEASE BLOG HOP, full of wonderful inspirations.

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

You did it!!

Hello friends! Giovana here today sharing with you a "Graduation card", easy and fun to make and to share ;)

Here are the details:

  • Start making a card base from White Cardstock. 5"x5".
  • Cut a panel from Blue Textured Cardstock. 4.5"x4.5". Adhere it to card base.
  • Cut a panel from Yellow cardstock. 4"x4". Add your star dies in random places or whenever you like them and die-cut. (Save your star for another project ;)
  • Die-cut a double set of 2014 using  number dies, glue them together and ink all edges. Add them to star panel with dimensionals.
  • Print the diploma and sentiment from the Graduation digi set, color images with markers. Cut it out and add it to star panel, add sentiment too.

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day.

Happy Birthday...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a Clean & Simple card (CAS card). I am always short on birthday cards, so today I have one that can be given to anyone... kids, teens, adults... It's also very easy to make.

I used You're a Star clear stamp set and the coordinating Stars die set.

The big star was die-cut out of the gray background panel... then I placed washi tape strips behind the die-cut. To dress up the card, I used teal thread and rhinestones. The greeting was made with a label maker.

Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day weekend,
Monika

Elaina name frame

Good morning! We are gearing up for another new release so be sure to check the store on Friday!
Today, though, I have a project to share that I recently made for a baby shower gift.  I used lots of Sweet 'n Sassy products to create a fun name frame to match the baby's nursery décor.

This is one of those projects that looks much cuter in person!  It's so hard to photograph without getting a glare from the glass and it's difficult to see the dimension with embossing and foam dots.  I have a few close ups to see it better.

The nursery is decorated with owls, so I used the Owl Be Here stamp set.  I didn't have a die large enough for the size of branch I needed so I cut my own.  Then I embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder and sponged it with ink.

The flowers were diecut with the SNSS Kindness dies and accented with the Small Leaves.  I also diecut the Clouds and Sun with SNSS dies and the sun was accented with one of the Stars Dies.  The butterfly is from the Majestic Monarchs dies and the banner flags are from the Pennants & More dies.  Lastly, I added a single heart from the Heart Dies.

One of my favorite parts is the embossed clouds!

Besides owls, the nursery has some paisley so I made sure to add a paisley cloud.  I couldn't help but to sneak in some tiny embossed hearts too!

I hope this inspires you to create some framed art of your own.  I sure had fun creating this one!  I almost changed my name so I could keep it.  ;)

Have a blessed week, friends!
♥ Diane

Starry Delights

Hello friends…it's Cathy here with two quick cards to share with you today.  I just love a good challenge, don't you?  Both of my cards for today were inspired by several challenges!

Today on Splitcoaststampers, Sabrina challenged everyone to use stars, so I grabbed my versatile Star Dies and tried the doodling technique described on Monday's Technique Challenge.  A white gel pen was used to trace around the star die several times on Kraft card stock.  The stars were then die cut leaving a wonderful doodled border around each one.  Put a piece of patterned paper behind the cut-outs to finish off the card.  The sentiment I used is from the Patriotic Cocoa set and the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.  One card…three challenges!

The second card, made for yesterday's Sketch Challenge, used the beautiful Delightful Doilies stamp set. The doilies were perfect for the over the edge element on the sketch.  The doilies were white embossed on mixed media paper.  Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, and Spun Sugar Distress inks were misted with water on a craft sheet and the doilies were swiped through the inks to create the pretty colors. The doilies were mounted on True Black card stock and a little border was fussy cut around each one. Some matching KaiserCraft papers were stitched together to form the card front.  A banner sentiment and a pretty bow finish the card.

One thing that makes challenges even more fun is a chance to win a PRIZE!  Be sure to join us here tomorrow for our very own Friday Feature Challenge.  A fabulous stamp set from the Sweet 'n Sassy Store will be featured, greatly discounted, and a challenge issued for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate!  How fun!

Thanks for visiting with us today!  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Cathy

Happy Father's Day

Is it too early to start planning for Father's Day?  I think not!  Today I'm sharing a card featuring the great images from the Timeless Classic stamp set.  Isn't that truck image amazing?

I created the background by stamping the gears on white cardstock, using VersaMark, and then used clear embossing powder to emboss the images.  I then grabbed a few inks from my Distress Ink stash and blended a few colors over the cardstock.  The embossed images resist the ink and voila...instant custom background paper!

The card was stamped on cardstock and colored with Copics.  Then came the assembly process!  I also punched a few stars out of black cardstock, using the Stars Die Set.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and you were inspired to create your own Father's Day cards!

Celebrate

Happy Thursday everyone!  Hey...it's almost the weekend!!  So today, let's talk about dies, shall we?  Any guesses on what one of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy dies?  That's right, the Star Set!  I use this set constantly!  It's perfect for my little boy scrapbook projects, welcome baby cards, 4th of July creations, and even cards that are entirely white and contain only one word!!

As you might have guessed, this project contains most of the star sizes that come with the Star Die Set.  I also incorporated some embossing (behind all those stars), edge punching (a super old punch from SU!) and a tiny bit 'o bling.  The sentiment shown on the card is from the Rose Collage
 stamp set.

So how about you?  What's your favorite die and have you check out all that SNSS has to offer?  Once you find the die that you love, why not give an all white card a try...It's a really fun challenge!

Celebrating Rhubarb

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  I LOVE new releases and last Thursday Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps released six fabulous new clear stamp sets PLUS matching dies, so today I decided to celebrate...with that most adorable bear...Rhubarb!  The card I made for today is a Tri-Shutter Card and the tutorial for this fancy fold can be found over at Splitcoaststampers under the resources tab.

The front of the card features Rhubarb from the new Rhubarb's Birthday Wish clear stamp set. Rhubarb is colored with copic markers and the balloons were given a coat of Glossy Accents. The patterned paper is from the BasicGrey Lauderdale Paper Pad. Do you see those stars and the star border? The Stars Die Set has four different sizes of stars and the star border is included in the Hearts & Stars Scallop Border Die Set!  Can I just tell you how much I LOVE Sweet 'n Sassy dies...they cut like butter!

This is a picture of the back of the card.  The banner in the middle section was made with the new Pennants and More Dies.  The tickets are made with the new Ticket Sentiments clear stamp set.

And here's the whole card opened up.  I had so much fun decorating this card with some of my new stamps and dies. I hope I've inspired you to check out the new release and to try a Tri-Shutter card of your own!  This is the day that the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it...and maybe find some time to do some stamping! Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Cathymac
