Christmas Starburst

Hi there, it's Ceal here to share with you today.
I know it's Halloween but not being much of a Halloween person I decided to share a Christmas card. It seems that Halloween has become the start of the Christmas season anyways. I am already seeing the Christmas commercials and all the Christmas decorations in the stores can put someone in the Christmas spirit.
For my card I stamped the Poinsettia and cut it out with the Matching Die and then colored it up with my copics. The sentiment is from another set Christmas Sentiments

I used a technique called Starburst where you just take strips of design paper and cut them at an angle and arrange them on your front to give a star burst appearance.

Happy Halloween

Precious to me

Hi there!

Jessica here popping in this morning to share a card I made using the gorgeous Delightful Doilies stamp set.  I stamped the doilies in Versafine ink and embossed with white embossing powder on some patterned paper.  To help the embossing stand out a bit better, I used some coordinating ink to shade around the images.

The sweet doily border die is so pretty!  I love to embellish it just a tiny bit with some twine.
A quick and easy card for my stash, with relatively little bulk = perfect for my stash!

Have a great day! Jessica

Merry Christmas

Hello friends, Giovana here today bringing you a CAS Mixed Media card. recently got a new stencil and I thought this would be a perfect match with "Born this Day" set.
This card is super simple. The background was created by mixing embossing paste and Ferro Amber Gold paint, positioned the stencil on you piece of cardstock and added the mixture, set aside to dry, after that I sponged it with Mustard Seed distress ink.
I die-cut a manger from White cardstock, then stamped the image in memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic Markers. I added Star Dust Stickles to the hay part.

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

For a Very Special Man

Hello, it's Bridget here with a birthday card created for one of the most special men in the world to me - my dear Dad!  He is seventy five this month.
I used a sentiment from Birthday Innies as it's just exactly what I wanted to say to a generous, funny, kind man of integrity who has been faithfully serving his God, family, church, community and country his entire life.
I think that I'm most thankful for the example of the
Father heart of God which he has shown to me.
I'm always looking for inspiration to create masculine cards and one of my favorite sets for this is Landscape Silhouettes.
To make this scene, I used a bit of masking with post-it-notes to create several layers.
Keeping the sun masked, I gave it all a quick spray with Dylusions Black Marble ink - afterwards I wondered if the result looked more like the view from his pickup windshield on the muddy drive back from a fishing trip in the back of beyond - but it's fun to experiment, isn't it?
The inks which I used are:
Stampin Up Cool Caribbean, Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade, Barely Banana
Colorbox Black Licorice
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Snow Sweet

Hi all!  Kim here today to share a sweet snowman card with you today!  I confess that I have a thing for snowmen and it's the only fun thing about winter...well that a big cup of hot cocoa!  The two combined in one image?  Perfection!

This sweet image is from the Snowman Soup stamp set, which includes the more darling stamps...three snowmen, a host of sentiments, and a handful of other images that can be mixed and matched.  See the marshmallows, candy cane, and whipped cream?  All separate images!  I can make a mug full of hot cocoa or coffee, whatever my heart desires!

I colored the stamped image with Copics and my entire card is decorated with some brand new paper from Fancy Pants, which will be hitting the market soon!

Enjoy!

Winter Chill

Hello sweet friends!  It's Cathy here with a card to warm your heart and home.  Last night the temperatures plunged to freezing around here, so it was finally time to turn on the furnace for some heat.  Another source of warmth comes from the love and laughter of family and friends as the Irish Blessing on this card states!

The darling image on my card is from the Winter Silhouettes stamp set designed by Dina Kowal.  It is framed on a Spellbinders Marvelous Square Die and mounted to some old Cosmo Cricket DP found in my scrap stash.  The corner was torn to make room for the sentiment. The faintly stamped snowflakes in the background and the pretty snowflake die tied onto the card are peeks at some fabulous new items that will soon be coming to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

On a sad note, the layout for my card came from the last sketch at The Sweet Stop!  After providing many years of wonderful sketches The Sweet Stop will be closing down after this week's final sketch.  We hope you can play along with us for SSS234 this week and help us fill the last gallery with many gorgeous creations!

May the ultimate source of love which comes from our Lord, Jesus Christ, light your day and warm your heart and home!

Hugs,
Cathy

The Holidays are Just Around the Corner!

Hello Everyone!
I am so glad you are visiting today.  Can you believe it is almost November?!  I love this time of year-the colors, the smells and the crisp air; and there is nothing like the season's first fire in the fireplace, which I enjoyed last night. When stamping fall cards, I typically prefer harvest scenes, pumpkins and leaves,  but I could not resist using this grinning spider and the 'Boo" sentiment, both from the Buggin' Ya Stamp Set.  This is about as scary as it gets in my house!

I was inspired by this week's  featured stamper, Mary-Alice, on Splitcoaststampers  to use the doodling.
I inked up a stamp from the Seasonal Wreaths set to create this contemporary Christmas card.  This is such a versatile set and there are several images and sentiments that can be used for Christmas cards.

I embossed the wreath with silver ep and colored it with Copics.  I stamped it a second time with Memento Black ink and colored the bow with Copics.  Both images were cut out using the matching dies. I cut the colored bow away from the rest of its image and adhered it onto the bow on the embossed wreath, popping it up with a dimensional.
Thanks so much for stopping by the Sweet 'n Sassy blog.  I hope I have inspired you to get creative today!

season of change

The leaves are slowly disappearing but I was still in the mood for stamping some beautiful Autumn leaves so I decided to create with the Season of Change stamp set and matching Leaf dies.  Oh, I have fallen in love with this set!

Aren't those leaves gorgeous?  I love the sentiment as well!  When I was finished with my card, I wanted to add something to the leaf panel so I stamped the little dots from the Birthday Bash stamp set, using second generation stamping with the brown ink.

Thanks for visiting our blog!

Everyday Miracles

Hello Sweet Friends,
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month and to all the women and men who are battling this disease, I'd like to offer my encouragement in the form of two cards I've created. Both cards will be sent to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and will be available to the families and patients free of cost.   I'm using a stamp set that was designed by Korin Sutherland for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called, Everyday Miracles.    There are two images and 4 sentiments to this set.   I believe they are encouraging and uplifting no matter the circumstance.    I chose to use just the sentiment today on both cards.
This is the first time I have created a clear card.   A heavy weight acetate that can be cut and scored for card bases.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Beaded Oval and cut the center out and used the negative on the inside to stamp the sentiment on.   The roses are Prismaroses with a few smaller flowers tucked around from my collection as is the greenery.  The most difficult part of this card was the photography. I've really blown this photo out, but, I kind of like it like this.   It presents a soft and calming image.

My second card is a clean and simple (CAS).   I love them both and believe they frame and deliver the message that each day holds the possibility and of a miracle.
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

May the Lord bless and keep you.

Warm Cocoa Wishes

Hi everyone!  The temps are really starting to fall where I live and they are even saying that there is a chance of some wet snow at the end of the week- yikes!  I must say that I do not like snow, but I sure love snowflake and snowmen stamps.  Today I am sharing a card I made with our newest snowman set- Snowman Soup.

I colored the adorable snowman with copics (BG70, 72, 75, 78, C1, N0, R24, 27, 29, 89), added some sparkle to the marshmallows (which is not showing well in the photo) with a spica clear glitter pen, some stickles to the trim of the hat and gloves, and finished by accenting with rhinestones on the hat and in the scallops.  I used the scallop border die for the border and the circle from the mini tag die set for the sentiment.  The mug is paper pieced- so fun!  The papers are from My Minds Eye Winter Wonderland collection.

Here is a closer look at the snowman

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope that you have enjoyed my card.  I do want to mention that if you like this super cute stamp set that you may want to pick it up as it is very limited in quantity right now which I found out when I went to add the link.

Moments of a Butterfly~

Good morning Everyone! Mary here with a card from Everyday Moments. I love the flight of a butterfly and attempted to capture it on this card.

The butterfly image is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with markers and water pen. I cut it out and popped it on the base where I stamped the butterfly multiple times in second and third generational ink.
The card is 5.5x5.5 and I created a simple frame using a multi line marker. The sentiment is stamped using versafine black. I added some bling to the corners for some embellishment.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful Sunday funday!

Immortal, Invisible

Happy Saturday Morning!

Does a long weekend make your work week feel longer or shorter?   Do you try to do more in 4 days to make up for it?   I don't know about you but many times I pack more into those long awaited holiday weekends than I should.   Is it hard to be still and quiet?   The scripture says, "Be still, and know that I am God."  To become still we must surrender.   Our minds, our thoughts, our being.

While I was creating my card for you today the words of the mighty hymn, Immortal, Invisible... flowed from my lips.  I am at peace; my spirit settled as I set my mind on things that are above and not on this earth.    Listen and see if it isn't true for you too.

To all life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on a tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changest Thee.

I realize I must learn to rest, to surrender my thoughts to the Word.   When I do, I am always blessed beyond measure - because I'm spending time with the One who loves me and desires to be my all.

My card is created using both image and sentiment by Dina Kowal, for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called, Season of Change.   I used the coordinating die set, Leaf Dies (set of 4) as well.
May the eyes of our heart see, and our faith increase as we surrender and transform our minds.   May God's peace and rest steady our pace in the days to come.

Hapu u'de'u ki-anokhi Elohim
arum baggoyim, arum ba'aretz

Be still, and know that I am God - I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth
Blessings,
Susie ~

Sunflowers

Hello friends! Today, I want to show you a card I made using the sunflower and sentiment from "Prim Blessings Set" and  one of  the "Decorative Plaques Dies" and coordinated "Decorative Frames".
I started with a piece of Ivory cardstock for my card base. I matted a piece of Kraft cardstock and Patterned paper from Bo Bunny "Forever Fall" Collection, distressed and ink all edges and added stitches. Die-cut a frame from Ivory Cardstock and stamped the coordinated border in Memento Tangelo Ink. Stamped the sunflower on Watercolor paper in Jet Black Archival Ink, colored it with Inktense Pencils, then added Crystal Lacquer to the center and sprinkle clear glitter. Added it to the frame with dimensionals. Stamped the sentiment on a piece of Ivory cardstock in Coffee Archival ink and cut it out, added twine and tied it to the frame.
Finally added pearls to opposite corners.

I used the sketch from "The Sweet Stop", you still have time to play along  too :)

Hope you like it!
Have a great day!

God's Beauty

Hi there! It's ceal to share with you today.
I love fall with the leaves turning and the beautiful picture God paints during this time of year. I tried to catch a little of that in my card. I used the set Leaf Silhouettes along with some Bo Bunny autumn papers.
I also used the diamond dazzle technique to give my panel some shimmer.

calms His child

With the warm days, cooler nights, and the leaves falling from the trees here, these images come together perfect for this time of year.  The swinging child from God Is and the Tree Background were stamped onto patterned paper for the background.  I then stamped the large sentiment called Calms His Child over top in black ink.  The fonts on this make it a beautiful sentiment!

It is comforting to know that we always have God to turn to with our troubles and this sentiment is a great reminder.  Thanks for stopping in and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!

Deepest Sympathy

Good morning!

Jessica here sharing a sympathy card that I made recently using
Smell the Flowers (for the flower vase) and Sheltering Tree (for the sentiment).

I colored the image with Copic markers and added some sparkle with a glitter gel pen.  The vase was stamped a second time on vellum and shaded with a light blue Copic on the backside for a soft glow.  The vellum card front was embossed with an embossing folder for a soft look too.  I stamped the sentiment on a vellum strip so the pretty vase would show through as well.

Have a wonderful day!

Autumn Wreath

Yesterday I rode into Belfast's city center with my son on the bus - we sat on the top floor and it was a perfect time to sit back and take in all the changing colours of the trees, putting me in the mood to post a card with a fall theme.
I used the fabulous Seasonal Wreath's set with the matching Wreath Dies, choosing vivid shades of teal, red, and gold.  It's popped up on three fishtail banners which have been embossed with various patterns for texture.
My favourite type of card to make is clean and simple with a bright pop of colour, and this wreath set makes that very, very easy!
I added some red twine and a teal button for embellishments.
I'll take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Autumn!

Blessings...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a holiday card. I am in love with the new Christmas Silhouettes clear stamp set and coordinating Christmas Silhouettes Die set

I decided to make a shaker card. It gives an interesting and fun touch to your project... and it is not that difficult to make. I used sequins and micro beads inside my shaker.

The frame of the shaker element was stamped with the wood grain image from Grunge Borders clear stamp set. The bird was cut with one of the dies from Birds & Feathers Die set.

Since I didn't have a lot of room for a greeting on the outside, I stamped the whole greeting inside, along with the holly image I used outside. Just another extra touch you can add to your project/card.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS232. Come and check out the beautiful samples from the Sugar Babies and play along with us.

Oh, and if you're in the York, PA area, stop by and see Korin and Cathy this weekend at the Sweet 'n Sassy booth at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival!
Thanks for stopping by,
Monika
