Hope. Fight. Believe. Pray.

Hello, it's Bridget here with you today to share some banner cards with an
encouraging message.  I don't know about you but I can never have enough
cards with messages of encouragment for those going through difficult times.
There are so many people among friends, family and the church family
who are going through difficult circumstances at any given moment.
Jesus Himself said..."In this world you will have trouble..."!
Thankfully, he also said. "...But take heart!
I have overcome the world." John 16:33
I love the little mix and match phrases in the set God is Bigger
and recently made a set of 4 cards with banners using the Pennants and
More Dies  (on sale right now!).

For both designs I used dp and stitching, sewing down the banners -
with a tiny touch of glue or tape to keep the pennants in place,
this is easy to do, though I suggest to avoid using the adhesive
directly under where the needle will pass - I found that the needle
catches in it and sometimes skips a stitch.  I curled up the
ends of the pennants slightly and attached an adhesive dimensional
under the end.  I also attached a little pearl under each sentiment on the
first one and placed them more randomly on the second one.
Each pennant has been sponged slightly with ink
around the edges for more definition.
Thank you for stopping by today - I hope
your week starts out with a great Monday!

A Colorful, Doily Friend...........

Hello Friends!  Jacquie here with a colorful creation!  I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to share with you all, at the Heirloom Festival in Allentown.  So, for those of you who could not attend, I thought I would share with you here!

I used some large daubers to sponge  Memento ink onto a white card base.  Here I used 2 colors, but, you could use as many as you would like; my other creation I used 3!  Then I used the SAME colors to stamp my doilies, from our Delightful Doilies clear stamp set.   In addition to the colors, I stamped some doilies in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I really like the contrast, as it really makes the card POP!!  Once my base was ready, I took a small scrap piece of the same white cardstock and mimicked  what I did for the base.  After that was done, I added a sentiment from our True Friend clear stamp set!  Voila!  A colorful creation!!

Thanks for letting me share with you today!  Have a WONDERFUL Saturday!!

Landscape Silhouettes ~

HI Everyone! Mary here to share this fun silhouette card with you. Recently, at the Heirloom Show in Allentown, my sister Diva Cathy taught us how to create these amazing sponged cards. She's an amazing teacher and me, the willing student. It was so much fun!

I chose three colours of the ranger distressed inks and sponged the oval I cut out with my first colour. Next, I created a mask for my sun and sponged directly over the top the remaining colours. I took the amazing landscape silhouettes stamp and stamped in black. Voila! There was my most beautiful sunset. The sentiment is taken from flower blocks 1 and stamped directly onto the base. This card excites me, it looks like an authentic Nakuru, Kenyan sunset with the animals on the horizon.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Landscape silhouettes, Flower Blocks 1
Inks: Ranger distressed inks mustard seed, spiced  marmalade, fired brick, Versafine black,
Paper: SU
Accessories: Spellbinder ovals die, CTMH brads

Miracles

Hello friends,
Susie here with two cards using several Sweet n Sassy Stamp sets I've come to love, and reach for often.  Majestic Monarchs Monarch Dies, and Everyday Miracles.

My first card is a 5.5 x 5.5 square.   I've created several dreamy layers in an aqua, sage, and light brown color palette.   Some second generation stamping across the horizontal panel provides an old world botanical feel.   I stitched across the bottom for added interest, and to secure the layers (especially at the edges).   The sentiment from Everyday Miracles is the focal point with the lovely Monarchs surrounding it in flight.   Each butterfly is layered over an existing stamped butterfly.   A few sprinkles of sequins and a twine bow complete the card.
My second card is an A2 size.   This card has a pretty fall palette, with the sentiment as the focal point again.   I embossed the sentiment in gold and vellum, and laid it over a piece of rustic cream card stock for a nice soft feel.   Tiny black rhinestones embellish the center of the butterflies.   Both cards will be a nice addition to my card keeper for future use.   Isn't it a nice feel to have hand crafted cards on hand to give at a moments notice.   I like to call them sweet offerings from heart and hand.

I'm stepping down from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps Design Team.   But, I'd like to thank each of you for all your kind comments over the past 8 months during our monthly releases, blog hops, and monthly posts.   It has been a wonderful experience, and one I shall always cherish.   I will continue to support Sweet n Sassy Stamps and the design team in their future endeavors from the sidelines.    But it's time to explore and develop some new areas of art, photography, and do some traveling when time permits.   They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will leave you with a photograph I took in 2010.

Behold the Heavens
"You are the light of the world.
A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."
Matthew 5:14
Until next time,
Adios and vaya con dios

Joyful Greetings...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a Christmas card... I know, I know... you are all ready for Spring! I am ready too, but Mother Nature thinks otherwise, and we still have snow on the ground and another snow storm on its way! So might as well be Christmas... and on that note, have you seen the ON SALE promotion? There's a pretty SWEET deal going on on some of the products. Perfect time to do some shopping! Just call it Christmas in March!

Back to my card... I wanted to make more Christmas cards this year, and my plan was to make one every week... well, I am way behind, but today I can add one more to my slowly growing stash!

There's so much going on my card, so I wanted to break it down for you and show you what I did:

First I used Embossing (Modeling) Paste and a stencil, and added some pretty pattern (and texture) to my white card stock, then I misted it with pink glimmer mist. (Note: while the paste dries very fast, you might want to set the card aside, or dry it with a heat tool.)

Next I stamped the arrow lines from the new Pick Me Up clear stamp set, stitched some lines, and adhered a strip of silver glitter paper.

Then... I added green thread to my card. I love that subtle look it gives to your project. I used a sticky dot, and adhered the thread. I like to do it in a figure 8 pattern. (Note: I made sure the loops were big enough so they would show from underneath the poinsettia image.)

My poinsettia flower (Poinsettia clear stamp set) is stamped on vellum with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. (Note: I usually stamp and heat emboss a bunch and cut them out while watching TV). To add color to the flower, I used a Copic marker on the back side of the smaller flower. The greeting is from Christmas Tags clear stamp set (on sale and will be gone... so pick it up now!).
To further embellish my card, I die-cut some leaves and added some blings... the bottom corners were punch with a corner punch.
The sketch came from Cardabilities Sketch #95.

Hope I inspired you to make something pretty today! Whether it's a Christmas card or a Spring card, create something for FUN!
Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Spring is in the Air!

Good Morning Everyone!

Spring is finally here!  Have you been stamping with spring images and colors?  I know I have!  The card I am sharing today is done in soft pastels and I think has a bit of a vintage look to it.  I used several sets for this card~

I am really enjoying layering and using doilies lately.  Only problem is, I only have one style of paper doily.  So today I cheated!  :)  I used one of the scalloped border images from the Borders and Background Set and curved it when adhering it to my acrylic block.  I stamped it in Versamark ink on the top half of my white card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Here is a close up of the doily effect.  I had a tough time with pictures this week, so I added close ups for you to see the detail.
I sponged Soft Sky ink around the edges of the embossing powder doily.  Next, I layered on another half doily, this time an actual paper doily.
On the bottom of the card, I stamped one of the background images from the Borders and Background Set, then added a banner strip across the middle of the card with a bit of lace trim along the bottom edge.

My butterfly, from the Majestic Monarchs Stamp Set, was stamped in Versamark on vellum,  heat embossed with Pool Party embossing powder, and die cut out with the matching  Monarch Dies.  I added a few die cut leaves and some pink scalloped buttons for my flowers.  The sentiment is from the New Beginnings Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Lee Ann  :)

thankful rose

If you've seen the March Sweet 'n Sassy release, you may have fallen in love with the third set of Flower Blocks that Korin has released.  For the hops I used the cute coneflower to make some cards but today I've turned to a different flower and used the rose.

My rose was stamped and heat embossed on vellum cardstock, colored on the reverse side with markers, and layered onto a scrap of white cardstock.  The light blue frame was then popped up around it with dimensionals.  The black border and matching die is from the Borders & Backgrounds Stamp & Die Bundle.

I made a few cards of this design for thank you and birthday occasions, but this would also be pretty for Mother's Day!

Have a wonderful weekend!
♥ Diane

Happy Spring!

Hi everyone!  Today is the first day of spring- woohoo!!  I just hope someone informs the weather that snow is not welcome in the spring (shaking my head as the forecast here in Buffalo has snow in 3 of the next 5 days LOL).

So since it is officially spring, I thought I would share a card with some flowers.

To create this card, I used 2 large post it notes to mask off the strip along the side.  I then brayered 2 different coral inks and removed the post it notes.  I stamped the Wildflowers and sentiment with black versafine and added some twine and ruffled trim to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Thanks A Latte

Good morning friends, today I am sharing a card with you that uses our cute new set Pick Me Up along with the coordinating dies. This set makes the cutest cards.  To make my card I started with a 4.25 X 5.5 piece of Kraft cardstock and added some designer paper. I stamped the cup image and used the coordinating die to cut it out. To finish it I added a little heart border.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Espresso my thanks!

Good morning!

Jessica here with a card to share today that I made with a couple of the new March stamp and die sets through Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps: Pick Me Up and Borders & Backgrounds.

The flag banners at the top of the card are from the arrow die in the Pick Me Up stamp set - fun!  I used linen white card stock to die cut the border dies and purposely didn't stamp them cleanly, as I wanted a bit of the texture of the paper to show through.

Have a great day!
Jessica

What a blessing!

Hello friends! Giovana here today with a flower card. I really like the new flowers from Flower Block 3 set, I stamped this image on Watercolor paper and used Inktense pencils to color it.  I added Distress Ink around the edges.
The background imageis from Leafy Flourish Background and was stamped on White cardstock in Tumble Glass and Broken China Distress Inks, cut the piece to 3.75" x 5", stamped the sentiment in Jet Black Archival, then added twine and the main image.

Hope you like it!
Have a great day!

Rainbow Butterflies

Hello, it's Bridget with you today to share a card using one of my
favorite SNSS sets, Majestic Monarchs.  I'm also hosting the
and here is the lovely card by Diana Nguyen which inspired me!
Rainbow colors and butterflies really appeal to
me, so this was a fun one to make!
I used one of the bookmark dies from Bookmarks and More Dies to
create the tag - I love how by just cutting the die-cut down on
one end, and hey presto, you have a tag!
This works with either one of the bookmark dies.
I stamped the butterflies from Majestic Monarches using various
Stampin Up inks. I created a small black frame using a paper cutter,
and a little trim with small scissors along the rounded bit at the top.
Twine and gingham ribbon were added to finish off the tag.
Then it was on to the background.  I used some magic mesh as a stencil,
sponging the rainbow colours across in diagonal lines.
The sentiments are from Precious Poppies.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, have a wonderful Sunday!

Grow in Grace

Hi there and happy Saturday!  Here's to the weekend and hopefully more time for crafting!  Today I'm sharing a card I created for this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which gave me a geat opportunity to combine a whole lotta Sweet 'n Sassy stamps along with some beautiful paper from Graphic 45 (Botanical Tea).

I started by very lightly stamping the Friendship Script stamp in the background of my main image.  I then layered the frame, and words, from the Seed Packet stamp set onto the background and adding some aging with my Pumice Stone Distress Ink pad.  I then die cut and stamped the butterflies (don't you just when there's a die to coordinate with a stamp?  Swoon!) from the Majestic Monarchs stamp and die set.  I colored the butterflies using Distress Markers and a water brush.  I finished by using the darling circle "long distance hug" and heart from the Vintage Postcard set.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and check out all of the those great vintage sets...love 'em all!!

God's Got This..........

Good Morning Friends!

Jacquie here to share with you today!  Hope you all  are having a wonderful week! I made another card of encouragement today!  I LOVE to share positive words!  My project today has TWO of my favorite things!  Our NEW Borders and Backgrounds Die Set & the God Is Bigger Clear Stamp Set!  I combined these FAVES with my favorite patterned paper, from Basic Grey?   Some scrap ribbon; a few pearls?   And........voila!!  My creation!  I am really liking the simple stuff here lately!  I am a firm believer of the whole, "It's the little things in life"?  I think that's why it has transferred to my crafting as well!!   I am also a firm believer in the whole "God's Got This" thing too?  So, what can I say!!   Perfect combination!!  Hope you like and thanks for stopping by to share with me!!

PS.  Don't forget to come and visit us at the Allentown Festival!!

A Little Sunshine

Hello sweet friends!  Can you believe this weather?  One day it's beautiful, sunny, and 60 degrees, and the next it's rainy and dreary with temperatures plummeting to below zero with the wind chill. Well...yesterday was so dismal, I decided to create a little sunshine!

The background was made with a stencil and some modeling paste.  After the rays were dry, some Daffodil Delight ink was sponged on them.  The borders, from the newly released set Borders and Backgrounds, were white embossed on different colors of card stock and die cut with the Borders and Background Dies to make a rainbow.  Because I was trying to make a happy card, the flowers from the Happy Place stamp set were colored with Copic Markers in rainbow colors.  A Clear Wink of Stella marker was used to make the sun rays and the flowers really shimmer.

A sunny bow, a banner sentiment, and some rhinestone stickers were added to finish the card.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has been busy preparing for Heirloom's Allentown Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival this weekend, so if you are in the area, be sure to stop in and say hello!  We'd love to meet you!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit!  Be a blessing to someone today and add a little sunshine to their life!

Oh, and one more thing---We just added a bunch of our exclusive dies to our 50% off sale---CHECK IT OUT!!! They're sure to sell out FAST

Hugs,
Cathy
